It has a P-120, took off in about 300 to 400 feet.

BTW. With my gear mod and a P-120, he should be able to take off from grass in less that 150 feet. It saves the U/C from a lot of beating on every take off.

RE: S/M F/A-22 Test Flight
Here are some newer photos of my SM F-22 Chris maiden for me a few weeks ago. ( Thanks again Chris) I’ve added some of the decals, and painted on some of the markings recently.
Stig,
I’ve decided to do your gear mods after all. Chris was able to rotation it off their grass field without any problems, but my home field is a little smaller, and has a tree line shortly after take off on one end. I’m hoping to get a shorter take off run with your mods.
Thanks for the info, and the former templates.
Also as you can see from one of the photos, I’ve split my front equipment tray into two halves. This way I don’t have to take half the jet apart to remove the tray.

Please can you give me the C of G position (on your a/c) as well as the various travel/throws of the flying surfaces?
Do you use flaps on take off? When landing and using flaps, do you use any elevator compensation?
Thanks for your help.

I have attached a few pics of my CG and mod.
I had the elevons version. (Sold it to a friend) So I only have the throws for the elevons.
Elevator: 55 mm
Aileron: 35 mm (Could be more, but it's a individual thing)
Add some expo to the elevator. You will only need full elevator during take off and landing. If you like dual rates, that is a way to do it also. You can fly it very slow at high alpha. It has no tendencies. Just remember to add power as the aoa rises.
I flew another F-22 at Florida Jets with rudders and ailerons. The flaps were not made active. As I remember rudders only had 10-12 mm movement and the ailerons 20 mm. I'm sure Duke or Eric from Airpac Models can tell you the exact movements we used.
