RE: SKYMASTER F-15 ARF plus arrived!!
Hi Florent... DHL: $285 USD
The new hinging systems are great, and the gap sealing piece is a very good idea so you don't end up with a hole in your ailerons or flaps...

RE: SKYMASTER F-15 ARF plus arrived!!
Hi guys!
The F-15 is almost ready to fly - I am currently working on a simple cockpit interior, as I will install the Skymaster F-15 cockpit when it is available.
In the meantime, here are some more pictures of the details and the plane.
Enjoy!
Thanks,
Tor

I am still waiting for the tank, the missiles and bombs and I am also hoping that the cockpit will be ready for sale soon as it looks fantastic!
I will be sure to let you know about the maiden!

Nice! That one is on my short list. I will need to use my AMT 180. I am looking for my next plane. Can't decide on the 1/8 F-16 or an F-15. This one is very near the top.

Tor, I will look into your missiles and tank right away, they should have been send....
Randy, is your AMT 180 pushing 20lbs? If so the F-15 will fly awesome with it, and the F-16 will have a lot of extra power. I have my F-16 1/8 powered by a Jet Central Super Bee (14lbs) and it flys great, so 20lbs would really move this jet.
Here is a video of my F-16 with the Super Bee...

great video of the F-16 - I still love that plane! Mine is in a sort of retirement now, but is fully airworthy and will fly again some day!
When you say that it will fly awesome with 20 lbs - are you sure 30 lbs (Simjet3000) won't be too much? Will this be a rocket or what?
I started it up outside my house the other day, and at full throttle, it is quite hard to hold back - she really wants to move!!!
Meanwhile, I enjoy my little Flanker!

Actually, about 21 lbs. It's been in my hot spot for about 4 yrs. It needs a new home.
After watching the 16 video, my decision just got harder. I have a friend who picked one up at Superman. Very nice.

RE: SKYMASTER F-15 ARF plus arrived!!
Hi Spain!
No, I will just use the underside of the bypass and have full access to the turbine.
The pilot is 1:10 scale and should fit nicely in the F-15!

Are you planning to buy the F-15?

30lbs will be excelent for the F-15, and you might be looking at unlimited verticals for that jet. Just don't fly full power all the time.

RE: SKYMASTER F-15 ARF plus arrived!!
A small but important tip:
I had made a wooden tray for my batteries in the nose of my F-15, it was glued in with fibre reinforced epoxy. The inside of the nose section was washed with Lynol (thinner) before applying the glue. However, the nose section is molded very delicately and thin, and when you work with it, it tends to bend a little in and out in different areas. When going over my plane before a taxi and range check run, I took hold of the battery board and gave it a slight pull - and it came loose without using much power!
I therefore decided to glue it in (after washing the area again) with Zap-a-Dap-a-Goo, which adheres very good, but remains a little flexible and can absorb the movements of the material. I also glued in a blue foam bar over the batteries to keep them secured in case they should ever come loose.
Zap-a-Dap-a-Goo can easily be cut away with a sharp knife blade and enables you to remove the batteries for maintenance if neccesary.
I hope for a maiden on Saturday, if the weather is OK!!

RE: SKYMASTER F-15 ARF plus arrived!!
Hello Michel, Anton and everybody else!
Today, I maidened my F-15 - and it flew like a dream!! After range-checks and taxing tests, I lined her up on the runway, spooled up the Simjet 3000 and away she went!
The climbout was soft and powerful, and she only needed one click of left and one click of down trim to fly hands off...
The F-15 was everything you have been telling me - smooth, responsive and gave me a very confident feeling. I did most of the maneuvers in the book, and had the timer set for 7 minutes as I was uncertain about the flying time and consumption. I had unlimited vertical, and top speed was amazing, as well as the slow flying abilities - I did one high alpha pass which looked very cool. I also had a few very low passes, and I did not feel nervous about it! [8D]
The landing was one of my smoothest ever, even without using the flaps! I just love this plane already.
I flew on more trip, but as I had not made a mechanism to keep the nose wheel straight after retracting it, it got stuck and did not come out on finals. Even this was not a big problem - I sat her down and as soon as the nose touched the ground I applied full brakes and the only minor damage was a scratch under the nose, already fixed tonight!
Video here: http://www.av-art.no/filer/modellfly/
Enjoy!
Thanks!
