SKYMASTER F-15 ARF plus MAIDEN video!!
Look what the guy from DHL brought me today: A brand new toy from Skymaster via Michel at Jets RC in Chile!!
As I am not a great painter, I went for the camo painted looks, and I don't regret it! It looks just beautiful and
I think it will take up all my time in the days to come!
The pictures were taken 10 minutes after the large crate arrived...
She will be powered by my very reliable Simjet 3000 and controlled by a Futaba T9CP with all digital servos.
I will post pictures here as the "building" progresses - watch this space!
Thanks,
Tor

RE: SKYMASTER F-15 ARF plus arrived!!
The new F-15 ARF Plus version weight is approximately 2-3 lbs lighter than the previous version. The plane is about 10lbs, estimated dry weight is about 18-19 lbs. This plane is incredibly light, but yet has a strong structure. We are now able to accept order and ship directly from out factory by air shipping. For those people who would like to save the shipping fee, our ocean container will be arriving here approximately within a month or two.
The price of the new ARF version is still almost in same price range of the older version (even lower) . The plane cost is $1350 (white primer) , if you would like the camouflage version as the picture shown by Tor will cost $1695

A lovely looking plane. I may get one to replace my much loved, but ageing Avonds F15. The only jet I have ever had that may die of old age.
I was looking at the Skymaster magazine adverts & the F15s weight is listed as 19lbs dry, with a 12lb air start turbine. They then go on to say the power requirement is 15 to 28lbs.
Why mention a turbine size that is not recommended? Is it to make the weight figure look good?
Regards
Jim

Jim,
"with a 12lb air start turbine." it was typo. We forgot to change new data from the old adverts. The weight of 19 lb. dry is base on P-80 or similar size turbine. Thank you for point out the typo.

The retracts are going in today, there were some plywood parts that had to be made to get everything to fit -
I will post pictures a little later!
Hi Tom - yes, I'm going to Notodden Friday - hope to get a few flights with the SU27 that evening!

Wow that looks really beautiful. How is the price and availability of this versus the yellow aircraft piece? They seemed to run out pretty quick and I do not like having to make such a big decision so fast.

I would contact Michel at Jets RC - he did a great job and got me my F-15 fast and trouble free! I checked out different F-15 ARF's and this was the best that I could find when comparing price, availability and quality!

If you're not in a huge hurry, the US Skymaster dealers will have them in 4-8 weeks. Air Pac is taking pre-orders now too (no deposit necessary). [8D]

Stallman,
I've still got ONE left. The SM bird is excellent, but I can't compare the two airplanes honestly, frankly and accurately without getting deleted, but take a look at the pictorals on both, paying careful attention to scale details/fidelity, what's included for the price (i.e., speed brake, installed gear doors, door cylinders, pre-hinged canopies, etc)--also take a look at the aircraft sizes, and make a decision for yourself as to price vs. value.
Anyone out there own/owned both?

Hey guys, I don't think Icepilot intended this thread to become a sale service... Lets keep in track and see the construction part of it. We are not here to sell jets but to help people that have them.
Just my personal thought...

Thank you for moderator pay attention for this issue. Most people come to here for friendly talking as Shaun (YellowAircraft) , but a few competitor or his "good friends" just look for business and rumor other's products.

RE: SKYMASTER F-15 ARF plus arrived!!
Going to the Notodden Scale meeting today, I will be continuing the building on Monday!
Like I said before, there isn't really a lot to build, but there are a few mod's and small
tricks that I will point out - some of them come from my friend Staale who had a very
nicely painted version of the first SM F-15. He was here yesterday and was quite impressed
with the new version compared to the old one.
Like everyone says - let's keep the sales pitch out - I just want to share my excitement about my new baby!!
Have a nice weekend!
