Default Tamjets Composite F-Sick Teen

Well fellas, Tam was right all along. It isn't an F-16, but an F-Sick teen. I just maidened my new Tamjets composite F-16 last week and she is the bomb. Bottomline the plane is just "sick". It flies well fast, slow, and has no bad habits. The plane is responsive in all flight configurations. No need for ailerons here. The plane tracks solidly on take offs and landings. In particular, the plane doesn't have the "tail wiggle" that the balsa version has. I'll post a few pics. Here are the specs:

* Jetcat P-70
* Taileron version
* Tamjets retracts and full gear doors
* Digital servos
* Tamjets smoke system
* Tamjets gear failsafe module
* Full tub scale cockpit & pilot
* Flite metal tailcone
* 84 oz of fuel
* 16 oz of smoke oil
* 3300 mah NiMH ECU battery
* 1400 mah NiCd RX battery
* 700 mah NiMH smoke pump battery
* Dry weight 17.5 lbs (This may sound high, but actually the plane flys light and has the capacity to handle additional weight. I like flying this plane over my balsa version because it has better penetration in windy conditions and doesn't get knocked around the sky. This plane could be built considerably lighter, but I have all the bells and whistles on this one and have overbuilt this airplane for Team/Demo flying....hundreds of flights per month. I will build a few more of these in different color schemes and they will all be built exactly like this one.)

No external control surface pushrods. Check out the rudder. Internal linkage is extremely easy to setup and maintain. Absolutely no slop or play. It is very strong and will not be suceptible to flutter.

All switches, fill lines, etc. are under the main hatch. The cockpit hatch does not have to be accessed to operate the plane. This makes operating and servicing the aircraft very simple.

Here is a couple of shots of the moulded details. The fuselage and wings are loaded with panel lines, hatches, and doors.

As Tam mentioned in another post, these kits are in route to the U.S. as we speak. The few that are already in the country have been distributed to reps for flight demos and to give us some lead time to learn the airplane so we can provide service and field support to all our customers.

I hope you guys enjoy the pics as much as I like flying this plane.

interesting to note the changes over the "semi-composite" one... the engine hatch looks larger - which is a great idea and the turbine looks like it is mounted further back..

Duky, don't forget this is Fresno, we may know how to milk cows, but taking in flight pictures...........you gotta be kidding. Nikon D200's are more commonplace in your neck of the woods and the pocket digitals aren't able to catch the plane or the photographer just plain sucks. Gotta go to Tam's field, cause Daddy is getting good with his camera. Will try to post some in-flight pics soon.

Joe, sounds like your enjoying your F-16. Yup, got the range check done and actual flew it on Sunday right after you left. I also flew it some more today. The plane tracks right down the runway on take offs and makes me look like a pro on landings............centerline and greased everytime baby!!! This F-16 is awesome in ground effect....the flare is always picture perfect. Your right about the CG. It has a broad range. I've been playing with mine and moving it rearward. I also changed the direction of the fuel burn and the front tanks are burnt first. There is no pitch trim change in the entire flight. I'm just lov'in it!

Doug, thanks for the compliments. Don't you have a P-70 sitting around??? This would be a great fit.

Nony, I guess my first post sounded too much like a salespitch because everybody missed my description of how the plane flys. As far as F-16's, I've flown the Y/A F-16A, F-16C, the BVM, the Byron, and the Cermark. This one's my favorite.

Nice job John.
I'm driving to pick-up Wilcox and McBridge plane to Superman this sunday. Meet me on I-5 Freeway. Bring the F-16 put in my trailer. Dave can put in 100 flights for you and Daddy took photos.
I promise by the time I get back. You get another brand new ride. You don't need that F-16. It been use.[8D]
Everything forsale.

John,
No reply that mean no right.
Hope I don't mess you up. Today Jimmy help me install the support brace at the inlet. Just like the real scale one.
This brace support the heavy nose and prevent nose from slam hard when doing not so perfect landing. The proto type sit on on the rack for few months and the nose start to sack. This cause from batteries and accessories weight in the nose and over time fiberglass can't support those kind of weight.
I send you some photos after I finish tomorrow night. This a good reason why reps get demo plane before shipment arrive. Any new plane take time to find problem to improve and we will find it before customs do. The only parts you need to make support brace is 2 servo bracket, servo screws and scraps 1/8" plywood. When I get back from Superman. I'll cut this parts to include in the hardware package.
BTW, never ask Jimmy to glue anything. His glue job is bullet proof. Only down side is he don't like to waste eposy. So what ever in the mixing cup be end up in the plane.[:@]

No - he sold it to me. I haven't used it yet though, so if he wants it back, then in the immortal words of Tam "Evy-thing fo sale!"

Just did the maiden flight today on Tam's new composite F-16. Everything went extremely well. Set up was per. Tam and Gary J's
recommendations. Jet flew well and tracked straight, very solid. Through both flights did not even miss ailerons. The F-16 settles down
nicely for landings even without flaps. The finish and outward appearance of the jet are great. Overall very pleased with Tam's F-16.
Great Job Tam!

Here is something I did last night. I took my proto-type airplane apart and install the brace support. This is must do before finish the model. This brace is easy done and it is solid.

Pedro,
You only need 5 servos for this plane.
Elevator standar 2 X Jr 2721, 8411, or 8611.
Rudder must use JR 3421 or Hitec 5125
Nose steering use any standar size servo.
Retract valve use JR 341 or any mini size servo.
