Hi Springbok Flyer,
There is an event just like this in QLD, at Suncoast Model Flyers on the Sunshine Coast. We had our 2nd jet weekend this year, with around 40 aircraft & over 4000 spectators for the weekend.
Have a look at our website under photos, & 2006 Jets, there are plenty of photos of the weekend on there.

RE: Temora Jet Meet This Weekend - Australia
Hi Tony
I was there, and flew on both occasions. However, whilst it is a fantastic event and a great bunch of guys - it is on grass. Even so, it will continue to be an event not to be missed.
When you can fly off a hard surface, the operation of scale jets - especially when laden on take off - is far more satisfying. Also when landing on a hard surface, the risk of leaving the undercarriage behind is not as great as on a slightly soft draggy surface like grass. Now I know that many a scale jet has been flown successfully of grass, but I beg to argue - not with all the gear doors and other scale fitments close to the surface. If one is flying off grass it is advisable to take ground clearance (especially when half the wheel is buried in the grass) into account - on a hard surface you don't have the problem.
So, all I'm saying - it will be great to have a multiple day event like Temora or Wangarrata in Queensland, on a full size hard surface facility.
Cheers mate

RE: Temora Jet Meet This Weekend - Australia
No worries,
I don't know too many of the jet guys, but would have seen you there, as I was 1 of the guys running round in the background , & parking all those cars all weekend.
I can see your point of grass being slightly sticky to get off from, but there isnt too many spare full size strips around in SE Qld, to hold an event, as most are RPT service airports.
That bit of a lump on the eastern end of our strip will be gone for next year, so it should be smoother again hopefully, & we are trying to get the grass even lower for this event if we can.
Glad you enjoyed it,
Tony.
