Spectre flight video

Hi guys,

Just broke my two PMP pipes , remain with the weston Uk short pipe (made in inox ) but have no black vitton "O" rings for this pipe the only one that fit is the orange OS flat ring as you know this is not a good one, if someone can help about the O ring or any idea with other good pipe ( I want to stay with the stock OS manifold if possible )
thank you

ok guys, I came across a deal I couldn't refuse. It was a complete BVM Ducted fan setup....fan, motor, puffer pipe, header pipe, saddle tanks. Now the question is, is it the 81 or the 82...I cant tell. How can you tell the difference? Oh yea, looks like it has never bbeen run

Hi, is this thread still alive? I'm wondering what sources for fan acessories are still around.. eg those conformal fuel tanks, starter wands, fan locking tools, ducting, tunded pipes, remote needles & such items. JMP & jet hanger hobbies don't have much anymore.. so where is a good source? And of course Ducted fan airframes?

I find alot of my gear in the msrket plafe, ebay and auctions. There is still a good supply of parts, kits, engines. The hardest part maybe the fuel.

hi David, I flew Nitro DF form the early 80s until 91/92. I just never liked turbines or especially electric! I'm getting back into nitro DFs, nothing else will do. I love the sound, the smell, the looks of the different fans/engines, the aura of the whole Nirto DF thing, I love it more today than I ever did! I sold everybit or am selling every prop plane I stuff have. I still have a (NIB) tiger 2 ARF with engine/servos/everything and a H9 ultra stick 90 that needs monocoting. thanks for your kelp David! God Bless***** ary (flyncrazy)

Don't get me wrong here, I too love the smell of Nitro, but I gt real frustrated with the constant cleaning up of fuel. Plus my "fleet" got so large I had to start hanging planes from my garage ceiling. If ONE drop f oil ended up on my wife's car I'd be out of R/C so quickly......

I just got a byron mig ,and i'm planing on use a dynamax with an os 91 ,did anybody installed this set up on this type of plane ,byron made the mig to be used with a byronjet thing I believe ...
if I sell my 63 fully restored chevy nova, I can afford a turbine jet for sure .....that's why I'm sticking with DF planes......

The plane was designed for the byro-fan which is a pusher. The Dynamax is a tractor fan. It can be done but you'll have to duct it well to get the most performance out of it. If you use a byron pusher fan you will enjoy it more. I'd suggest searching for one. Good luck.

Keep the mig simple and you will enjoy it more. Using the byron fan you will need the cheater hole. You could always go electric. Is this the retract version?

By all means don't use a dynamax fan in that thing. Find a Byron unit and go that way. The set-up on the Byron is more forgiving to inlet ducting design and you'll get more low end thrust. Plus that's what the plane is designed for, no need in doing all the re-engineering that would be required to convert it.

yeah I guess I'll have to find a byron unit at a decent price and the tune pipe ,,I got the plane at first believe or not to give use to the dynamax set up and the 2 os 91 engines df I have ,,,I did not realize that the plane was design for the byron turbine set up ,until I did my research ..but I like the plane really cool looking and I really want to finish this classic, even with the few missing parts (nose cowl ,the wing fillets from the top of the wings ,one elevator tab ,gear doors ) but it's mostly complete ...(by the way if somebody has those parts let me know )
just to ask u guys what type of plane use the dynamax set up?
and thanks for all the info and experience on this type of planes

Anything that's built for a 5 & 1/4" diameter fan unit... yellow aircraft if you can find one, Avonds still do the F15 for d/f. There are also plans available from Bertella in Italy. Byron fans, if memory serves, are 6" diameter. I still have a BVM F16 with the viojett & bvm91R.
