Bob
Err nope! not had a problem with the EDF model even on grass. I always found spring air legs very good.
Only other choice is Robart and I'm not sure if they are any better.
I have a 3/16 nose and 5/32 mains

Here's a video of Bob B's Spark flying with an SM110-52 EDF unit using only 2.8-2.9kW (the standard unit draws about 3.2-3.4kW, Bob has a different wind motor on 9S).

A few other guys have Sparks which should be flying soon with the standard 11S setup - can't wait to see how they go with all that extra power.

Guys
I have now had around 50 flights on my Spark and I really love this model, performance on the DS75 fan set up is "sparkling" (sorry) the model is easy to fly like a pattern plane.
The Thunderpower 5000 Extreme cells are holding up well to 80+ amps. I've been using these sets since early September 2007 and performance is still fantastic. Performance benefits from keeping the cells warm before flying (It was 6 degrees on Sunday)
I use a Powerbox Digi switch on the Rx and a Thunderpower 730mAh 2s pack which gives me four safe flights.
