Ok, so after dinner one night I overheard a conversation between Tam and the Reverand:
(Tam) "Ooooooh, Daddy lup ate tree"
(Rev)"you eat tree's when you were in Vietnam? Wow, no wonder why your so small"
(Tam)"No, in Frorida today...I lup it"
(Rev) "why didnt you just eat a burger, or a barbecue sandwich..they were great"
(Tam)"no no no, you don undastan Daddy, it was wello and my sy...."
(Rev)"oh, you ate a bannana?"
(Tam)"no no, Daddy drope it awound"

(Tam) "No, the Ate Tree"
I felt your confusion Reverand, but fortunatley Carlos got a picture of what Tam was talking about. Hopefully this will clear a few things up!

I have a question for you guys from the West Coast. What has become of Mr. John Christianson? Did he drop off the face of the earth? Did he not announce few years ago the formation of AirWold USA. All this pictures of Airworld airplanes and no John. So my real question is “has anybody seen my old friend Johnnyâ€
...and where was Mr Watson??? I really miss his FJ pictures this year !!!!!!!!!!

Now I've got a few things to say about all of you guys..........and I mean everyone.
First, EXCELLENT JOB on the pictures guys, both threads, Volkan keep it up, nice job.........all these pics really made me feel good knowing so many took pictures and gave the rest of us a front row seat..............even though the weather was'nt the greatest (believe me I was spending my fair share of time in the rain as well 3000 miles away.)
Smokin Joe...........I said this to a few people via phone.............I HAD NO IDEA YOU WERE A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER BY TRADE! Seriously I did'nt...........very talented individual.........excellent job...........and the captions were perfect (Volkan watch the Joe's (Uncle, Smokin.......etc) this is who I try to be like with my 3.1 megapixel
.........you have a very bright future with this sport/hobby young one........I hope to meet you someday as well.
I do have one criticism though..............I saw the pics of young guys in towels and guys once again moving in on other guys backsides...........and I just started to wonder...............so to keep those of us who might have questions from visualizing...............please guys.........next time............more..........CHICKS! Ok? I mean cmon.......you guys were in Florida..........you can't tell me there was'nt some hottie wearing a hoodie or all bundled up somewhere under one of those tents in all that wind and rain??? (And yes Smokin..........you can blow those ones up to 12, 15, or however high your megapixeler will go!)
Now I'm happy to be an online spectator for the moment and enjoy what you all are doing out there and have to say.................I may be a bit scarce at most of the meets for the next year or so..........and to squash the following rumors before they are spread all over the world:
1. I did not get arrested for outstanding speeding tickets in 5 states.
2. I have not dissappeared over the Bermuda Triangle on a trip overseas.
3. And no I am not in a foreign country trying to teach people how to fly their F-14's!
I just have a couple of promises that I have to keep and a few things that I have to get built, so that along with a hectic work schedule are going to keep me a bit transparent for a while.........but I like many others will be watching, so post those pics! (and the chicks)
Finally.........from what I can see and have heard...........one #ell of a crosswind...........hats off to all those who either flew or attempted or just plain old used their best judgement based off of their equipment and skills..............A long time ago I went for an ATP checkride in Florida and there was an approaching hurricane, about a day away...........winds were howling but pretty much down the runways for all of the east coast airports.................I met with the FAA examiner, did all the ground work, flight planning, and prepped the airplane to go.........even though the weather looked good, with the exception of the wind.........after spending 3 hours on the ground it was time to fly. I was ready, the examiner was ready and I walked outside looked up at some low stratus clouds whisking by and told the examiner. "You know what, I think we'll postpone this for another day."(I really wanted to go to because it was my 25th Birthday, the earliest I could get my ATP) He said "Are you sure, I'm booked for the next three weeks." and I said..........."Yes sir, we could do this..........but it really does'nt make sense." We walked back inside he sat me down and said..............."Good call son, because you probably were going to get a pink slip for making a bad decision." Remember folks............there's nothing to prove, not even to yourself sometimes...........
Now for the rest of you that flew in those crosswinds...............Keep the upwind wing down and opposite rudder in the flare and ROLL THOSE PUPPIES ON!

Hi Guys,
I logged in to RCU for the first time in about 6 months today and had a ton of PM's waiting. Thanks for all the questions about "where are you"...
Anyway, things are great, but I got a little fed up with the hobby and needed a little break. I got to a point to where everything I did was RC related. Worked RC, flew 5 times a week, contests, building late nights, RCU... I was like there was nothing else going on and it started to look a bit like an addiction [:-]
So, I have not touched a transmitter for almost 8 months, not had CA on my fingers and Jet A smell in my car, but I am getting ready to build another jet and start flying again, strictly on a hobby basis.
In the past 8 months I have been taking helicopter lessons (full size) and it is so much fun. I am ready to take my test in a couple of weeks. I have also started flying real sailplanes out in the Mojave Desert, near Edwards Air Force Base which is great fun too. Finally, my biggest acheivement is getting engaged to my beautiful girlfriend Michelle
Again guys, thanks for all the PM's. It was great to feel missed :-)
