L39 Skymaster ARF + Maiden Flight
Hello,
Yesterday and today were the first flights of my new L39 SM powered with Simjet 2300 AES GE.Everything was absolutely perfect, flying characteristics are great, aerobatics and high speed are very nice with axial rolls . Landing speed can be very low thanks to the great effectiveness of the flaps.
I really want to thank Anton Lin from Skymaster for such a nice airplane and for his very reliable support !

Congratulation with the maiden! The plane looks great, there are a few of the here in Norway, and I can't wait to see them fly!
And the Simjet turbines are just great...
Many happy landings to you!

Hi ?,
Congrats on your L39 finish and flight. I am assembling the same model here in Australia. Did you have any problems with the size of the wheel well holes in the fuse? And did you get painted gear doors in your kit - as I don't have doors.
The cutouts in mine are 110mm diameter, yet the wheels supplied are 120mm diameter. SM says to cut away the excess -this seems a bit strange to me?
Be interesting to know if others have had to do the same.
Best Regards
from Australia

Hello Dave,
Yes the holes in the fuse were a little bit too short for the wheel.Gear doors were included in my kit,but I didn't mount them.
For me the only modification was to change the spring in the nose strut which was too soft.
Best regards.Etienne.
