RE: Skymaster F-5
I would just like to clear one point about the CG,
Anton said "110mm without fuel and gear down",
next,
John said "110mm without fuel, main gear down and nose gear retract"
I have a F-5E and I want to modify the CG at 110mm, I have to do it with nose gear down or with nose gear retract ????
Best regards

RE: Skymaster F-5
The reason the aircraft is Cged gear down,
is the with the gear down the cg is then at its max aft position.
The nose gear retracts forward which put's the CG forward as the gear goes up.
Of course duing flight the nose weight comes off as fuel is burned.
A corsair or P-40 is Cged dry ,gear up as they retract aft.
You don't want to be gliding dead stick trying to stretch
it to the field (gear up) with an aft Cg, which is what you end up with
if you were to Cg a p-40 or corsair dry gear down.

To answer your question: NOSE GEAR DOWN (or as JC explained - all gear down).

Anybody have or know where to get a decent instruction manual for this aircraft? Mine came with nothing and the one on the SM website seems to be missing a lot of information.
Cheers guys!
