Is the brake proportional on that Airpower device?

Mike-Lasse posted awhile back in this thread that he used spray can (lexan paint) on the inside of the canopy. Just touch off on the shade but it does look very good.

Lasse can you post your reccommended throw settings for each surface with expo and where you put the CG?

The pictures are taken in a studio (for my home page)

I painted the canopy from the inside with yellow clear cote.

My initial elevator set up is with 40 mm movement each way with 25% exponential.
Ailerons these are set to 20mm each way with 25% expo.
The rudder movement is set to 13mm each way with 30% expo.
Centre of gravity Approximately 160mm from front edge. see previous photos!

Do you have a photo of how the rudder linkage is supposed to hook up stock? I've never seen that yet.

Hi Lasse,

I have a question about the panel lines. How do you make them visible ?. What kind of paint do you use?.. Is it just black pencil?

I appreciate your advice.

Best Wishes,
MURAT

If the model has not been painted.........

while in prime you lay out the panel lines with tape (chart tape comes in various sizes). Then you spray a few coats of primer over the chart tape. You don't have to do the whole plane since its already primed. Pull the tape up and then lightly sand the plane, clean it up and your ready for your primary colors. The lines should be there.

If its already painted then I guess you can draw them, not sure how else you would get them on there.

Murat, the panel lines are already molded in this model.

If you have a kit version like mine (all white) you airspray black lines along the molded panel lines, yes black and they do not have to be true nor perfectly aligned. You then use light coats of gray paint over and the "black" lines will now show off as moisture marks.....making the panel lines look 3D.

If you have an ARF Gray model, try to match the gray colors as best as possible, then add a few drops of black paint to make the paint darker, but not too dark. You then airspray the dark gray along the panel lines. Again, this technique will give you a "dirty" panel look. In the case of the F-16, it will look like the typical moisture marks.

Hope I answered your question?

David

Hi David,

Thanks a lot for your sugestions. You answered my question in the best way as possible. I have the camouflage F16 1/8 ARF version. However I'm a little scared to use my airbrush on top of it... How thin do I need to set up my airbrush?. Shall I use some kind of cleaning thinner afterwards?....

I do appreciate your suggestions

Rivets are a different story. Unless you have a 1/6th scale kit, I'd stay away from them. On a 1/8th scale, the rivets would truly be very small, you shouldn't be able to see them from 2 feet away!

But in any case, you buy the rivets from www.pro-mark.com. These are dry transefers that you can cut into lines, or bascially any shape you need. You then have to shoot clear coat over them once applied.

As for thining, I use acrylics so it is very different than what most people use. I only thin about 20%, as anything more the paint will run. Since you have the ARF, which has a glossy finish, I'd leave it the way it is. The paint you will have to use for the panel lines is typically flat, so you would need to clear the whole model either gloss or flat when you are done.

Hello JL Guys!
I have about 200 flights! With my Jet Legend F-16 and are very satisfied with the model.
But!
The construction (design) of landing gear should be a little better than it is!!
My solution!
I mounted fixed the landing gear mechanics in front of the carbon fiber duct.
see photos,video!

Easy with the F-16. It does not have rivets. Most modern jets are done with fasteners, not rivets.

The carbon duct is homemade for protect the turbine from grass, crap, stones.

Hi Rich!
I use the Beacon mini from flugmodellbaue.de
Led combination! white, red, green and lead cover (drop style) Bestell-Nr BMLE
That’s easy to install these lights!
But they are not scale! Because the green and red lead are flashing,
But for me, they are quite Ok!
I think the price is 60 Euro.
