I just received my Super Falcon 120 today. However will be putting in a glow motor. After some searching, I'm still not sure what the preferred set up is (no turbine). I'm thinking OS 1.60. Would like to get the most speed possible through glow power.
Thanks

I would also like to know what servos are best used for falcon 120 with turbine. Also do we need to use power regulators ? Your reply is greatly appreciated.

I am using One Hitech HS645mg on the elevator. I cut the covering and made a hatch on the bottom of the stab. The rudders are one each Hitech 225MG mounted to the inside of each fine. On the Ailerons and flaps I am using Futaba S3003. All is powered by a 5 cell 1700MAh nicad battery. This is working very well. I have 8 flights on mine as of now. The wheather in NE Ohio stinks.
Mine is powered by an MW54. Perfect set up for this plane.

I'm using Airtronics 94161 on Ailerons and Flaps. Elevator is via an Airtronics 94761. Rudders, steering, and valves are via 94141.
This is powered by 2 6.6v A123 cells wired in parallel.
This is way over-spec (you could get away with standard servos here) but I had them on-hand and they fit nicely. The extra power would just mean that the controls will be sharper and hold position better. I'm very happy with this setup.

Can anyone give me a break-down of what they are using for gear with a turbine conversion. Tank, servos, gear, and turbine choices etc.
Thanks

How has the airframe with turbine power been holding up? Speeds abtainable without flutter or self-destruction? I'm almost done with mine, waiting on retracts to arrive. Have a Jetcat P-60 in her.

Just ordered my Falcon 120 tonight. Ordered the JJ1400 about a week ago. My friend, Larry, here at RDRC is flying a Falcon with the JJ1400 and it really rocks! Super fast, great handling and lands like a trainer! Can't wait to get busy with it. I just need to order the brakes now...getting them from airpowernet.com.

Hi guys,
What fuel cell/tank is recommended for the Falcon 120 on the turbine conversion (kerosene or Jet-A use)?
Thanks a million!

Can you guys point me in the right direction on construction of a fuel cell with the mentioned containers. This is my first turbine experience and I want to do everything as properly as possible. Is there a thread here somewhere maybe? I have done searching, but haven't found much, just fuel cells for sale. I'm usually a lurker and try to learn what I can on my own, so I hate to ask for any help and bug anyone, but any advice given is very much appreciated.

Based on advice from joeflyer I used a plastic juice bottle for the tank. I think it was around 65ozs and came from the local Kroger. I used fuel can fittings (Du-Bro I think) for the connections. Used SEAL ALL from Home Depot to seal everything including the cap. Here is a picture of one made by joeflyer for his turbine-powered Enforcer.

Well It's just a fuel tank. Make sure you use gasoline safe components (e.i. Tygon tubing). The juice bottle is just fine.
Here's a picture of my setup. Beyond the mess you can see that I simply used fuel fittings designed for a glow fuel bottle. You can also use a setup from a gas tank. My clunk is made from a fuel filter but you can simply use a clunk from a gas tank setup.
You can also see my UAT - it's a fuel filter. These are cheap, easy to aquire and work just as well as any commercial UAT.
It's really a simple tank and header setup. Anyone who is competent enough to get into jets shouldn't have any problem with it.

Erazz, could you elaborate on the UAT (Filter) setup ? thats intereting !
Can you purge air out of it while fueling ?

It's simply a fuel filter from Auto Center...
Surface tension on the filter prevents bubbles in the fuel line just as it does on the UAT. I've installed a nipple on the top (not shown here) to purge the air. Filling is done via a port on the bottom of the fuselage with a MPJet quick fill apperatus which is placed between the filter and fuel tank.
Btw, Can you see the canopy mount?

Hi Guys,
Thank you so much for info on servos and fuel set up. I am also new to turbines, I will be using a P70 with my falcon. In process of researching all the components needed for safe operation, since this is probably my only chance of flying a turbine (won't be able to do it again if I crash). Are you guys using redundant power supply for your receiver/servo set up? What is a good cost effective means of making sure the power supply or the electronics function with out problems.
Thanks again..

Chris,
I used a 64 oz. Ocean Spray Juice bottle. The tank fittings are available from either Tamjets or Dreamworks. As RAMflyer pointed out the cap and fittings were sealed with Seal-all.

The one in my Enforcer still works fine after 3 seasons and almost 200 flights. I used a heat gun to reshape the corners of the bottle a little so it would fit as far back in the Falcon fuse as possible. See post #547 in this thread.
