I've just bought the Falcon 120 (Goldcat 54) to replace my Hawk that went in on Sat.
I'll be powering it with the Wren 44 gold which came out of the Hawk, I'll post pix on here as and when I start the build.

Hello all,
I maiden the Falcon 120 with my Ram 750 today, see picture
on page 7, and all I can say is WOW!!!!! It was rock solid from
take off to landing and I was conforable the whole flight. I never
used any more than 1/2 power the first flight, that was taped
on 8 mm. I will try to get the tape converted to digital and
post if possible. I was so impressed with the performance
that I ordered 2 more today before everyone find out about
this great HOT plane.

Follow up:
Speed was estimated at 130 mph on half throttle (must see video)
Landing gear was Spring Air with 3/8 Robart struts and BVM wheels
and brakes.
Fuel was 82 oz and flying time 7 minutes.
Gear left down for first flight.
Take off was from 400 ft asphalt and used 3/4, I did not pull up hard.
Dry weight was 16 1/2 lbs.

Hi Guys

Iam Steve Hart, The all up wieght of my falcon was 13 pounds dry.
The fuel tank is 1500cc durobo turned on its side, with a 6oz hopper tank for a air trap.
Flight time with the Wren 54 MK3 is a good 7minuets with go round fuel too spare.
And for the money its fantastic value.Iam very pleased with mine so far.
Will try yoo post some video in the next few days.
Thank You for the weight information, I am just trying to decide on a set of gear... Buying landing gear is a bit of a task with all of the options available...I might go with the Jet 1A complete set for the Baby Boomerang...
Thanks Again,
Mojo

I repeat my question - do you guys think this is now the new ultimate Jet trainer ? with its probably amazing cost\effectiveness ratio.

Also, which AOA did you guys set the turbine in, and how does she track in flight ?

And one last thing - any chance you guys could upload the video somewhere so i could download it ?

Hi i3dm
As for the ultimate jet trianer, having not tried all the other jet trainers on the market i cannot comment.
But Having flown other models i can say i find it very impressive with no failiures yet after 7 flights.
some of which have included trying too spin the model also high speed turns, rolls loops reversals.generalley chucking it about and having fun. its a very stable platform and doesnt catch you out. All speed ranges and attitudes are very easy she a real ***** cat
sorry i dont understand AOA please explain.
IVe kept the upload, post your email ill send it too you.

Hi guys, First flight was UGLY. GMS 120 with the 14x7 three blade is not enough, needs more blade to start with. RPM'S in the air were verry high but no push. Take off took for ever and then shot straight up , landing after cutting power went straight down. I found out on second flight both problems were better wih at least half flaps. For you guy's with JR radios down load BVM data safe program for BOB CAT it will give you basic set up and crow. Next step will be to replace GMS 120 with OS 160, Already ordered pusher pipe from WESTON UK.
Hello Jim, do you need that special pusher pipe that you mentioned or can you just run it with the conventional silencer, I'm not looking to set any speed records or anything like that... Another Question Bud, when you order that OS 160 do they have a different model for the rotation or do you just flip the prop???
Thank You Jim,
Mojo
Hello Jim!!! What prop will you run on the 1.60 engine? Will you go with another 3-Bladed prop?
Thanks Mojo

Here she is just out of the box. I have a 50oz tank to go with my 44 gold so I should get about 8mins flight and a couple for landing.[:-]
Well done Steve, Dave Wilde told me you had test flown yours and then I saw the video last night, looks like a nice machine.

You'll get well over 10 minutes with 50oz. I get 11 minutes with a 40oz and never get it below 5 or 6 oz remaining with my Reaction 44. This baby "sips" fuel. If a 40oz fits better try it instead.

Hi RCGuy,

Dave Wilde from A1 Colchester Models (UK) told me to get the 50oz as it does fit into the model fine.....I'll find out soon.
It'll be like flying an IC model with over 10mins of flight
I hope to get some enjoyment out of this model?

Regards

Does the smaller bobcat 46 have a flat bottom main wing airfoil? (like the similar keecat does), As dave wilde hasnt mentioned it, i assume its not a huge problem

Only ask as im doing the keecat as a turbine and dont want to run into problems with pitching up under power.

Hi Big Top Thanks for the comment.
I have fitted a 50 oz tank in mine ,you need to remove some of the formers to get it too fit ,but this doesnt cause a problem.
The tank is fitted on its side .
Good luck with your project, ill be interested to hear how she performs with the wren 44
Regards Steve.

Hello JIM and Thank You for the info.... Jim was the 16 X 10 on the new 1.60 engine or the same engine as before the 1.20 ?
I don't have my plane yet Jim it's on the way but I guess you must use a 3 X Bladed Prop due to the size of the prop... is this true?
OK for now...
Happy Flying and Thanks Again

I have the mine outfitted with an electric ducted fan setup. One flight so far (ripped the mains out on landing, mostly pilot error partly lack of signinficant quality glue on the mounts) with less than impressive speed. We "guesstimated" it at approx. 70mph in level flight. It has a Schubeler DS94 120mm all carbon fiber ducted fan unit powered by a Neumotors 1527/1.5Y/S brushless motor. The ESC is the Phoenix HV-110 and I'm using 3x 4S/5000mah 25C Thunder Power batteries. It's AUW is 15lbs 7oz. In an effort to get more speed out of it I'm going to up the motor timing at the ESC to the highest safe level. I also have a Keecat w/ a OS 91 on the back and right now I don't think the Falcon is any faster. I'll let ya all know how the timing mods go but right now it looks like I should have spent the $1700 that the electric setup cost on a JJ1400 like I have in my Reaction 54.
