Mine is still in the box, I have not started the Falcon yet.

It is clear, you can paint to match.

Joeflyer has one too.

The Falcon 120 is a wonderful flying plane, but it is just a little too hot for this 78 year old man. And so, I have a great buy for someone. Click here. >

Maybe Brett Smith would be interested in getting a few to sell in Aust. Shipping is about $40.00 US Funds. and will pay to ship 4 or 5 canopies in one pkg.

New2Jets,
I am sure you have said before as I have read the entire thread, but what retracts are you using in your plane, and also what struts? I haven't built mine yet as I am waiting on funds for an engine, and I still need to purchase retracts and struts as well.
Thanks,
Bryan

hello all,
well finally had the first jet fly of 09,it was long overdue but lately the grass was too green and the sky was too blue (according to some)
I only had 4 flights in 2 days but the sweet smell of a1 in anger and the unmistakeable whooosh on full chat as she climbs skyward (yes briefly when fat of fuel with std wren) were becoming a memory.
luckily a good cameraman was on hand and more than happy to snap away-cheers loz but as the mrs always says -can i have some more please?i see (posted by new2jets)my severe crosswind landing looked good-or was i just trying to be different with a 1 wheel touch-ha ha

Guys, What can I say about the falcon but whow!!! I finally got around to getting back into the jets and decided to keep it cheap and chearful with a falcon 120. I just put abit of extra glue around the u/c bays and spar tube, cut the elevator in halve for improved redundancy, JR 591's and Hitec MG mini's on all flying controls and used the standard wire pushrods with a Z bend on the ends. Its flies bloody awesome with a wren 54 and lands oh so slow with 60 degrees of flap and crow braking. It lands so slow and gentle and is a real blast to fly !! So, if you want a nice and cheap turbine hack that flies well then get a flacon and wren. I have never had som much enjoyment for my money. Recommend them to anyone. I just kept it simple and it flies a dream!!!

For those of you that were looking for donor fuel tanks - here is a good solution I found.

Its a Lenor fabric conditioner 2 litre bottle that fits all the way back to the last former without any heating or re moulding etc.

My missus said she bought it from Tesco but im sure they'll do it in other places.

It sits on the main wing tube and over the C of G although a little forward.

Ive bought a fuel tank kit and sho goo'd the cap on and filled with kero and no leaks thus far.

Also its environmental recycling to make up for some of that kero that gets burnt !!!

As I have taken all the formers out of the Fus, I have been able to get a 2L Lenor Fabic Conditioner bottle into the rear with just a small amount of heating to clear the wing tube, just put the bottle in place with the wing tube under it, needs a little forcing to get it right, then put a heat gun into the neck of the bottle, the plastic seems to know just where to go and it formed perfectly. I have drilled through the rear deck to take 10mm carbon rod, this will be epoxied to the inside fus wing root formers and to the longitudinal members I am putting in, will take pics when I do it, been a bit side tracked with my Rookie.

We get them from a supermarket we have Tesco, Sainsbury's, Lidle no Costco or Walmart in the UK, but you never know they may have something similar.
