RE: Rt 66 Jets Litchfield Illinois
Well another Route 66 is in the books!!! Lets see here? I screw up my back out first thing Friday morning getting the Kingcat together!!!! What a way to start this event! LOL This is when you find out how great the people in our hobby really are for sure! Got to thanks Robert and Joe for giving me a hand. There were many other that offered their condolences and maybe a quick fix (Bill Harris) or two. I really apprecaited your help. And of course I my local Homies (Chris and Barry), were there to step in and help with my stuff and to fuss at me for trying to help. Thanks guys. Anyway, I got a good report from the doctor today. Looks like a pinched nerve or possible torn muscle. She said my bones even looked good. LOL!!!! I was a bit worried, Never had anything like this before and hope it goes away fast too.
Now back to the event! Of course Roger and Jimbo always do a great job making sure everyone is having a good time.If they only could have gotten the sun out earlier LOL!! Highlights of the event had to be seeing Don's Hawk fly and Getting Chris Smith's Mercury powered Flash check ride out of the way! Oh Yeah, and nobody has smoke like Lance's F15.Congrats to Joe from Springfield (I think?)I can't remember Joe's last name anyway very nice local guy who got signed off for his turbine waiver. Good job there Joe!!
I'm glad Gary took some pictures, He's done a great job I think. Thats about it for now. As Arnold would say "We'll Be Back" for sure next year!!! Scott

I am the guy who got my waiver on Sat.I am excited about it now that I will be able to fly with some fellow pilots at clubs and events.I have a private strip close to home and get plenty of flying done but can get boring without a crowd. Garry thanks for taking the time to take pics and post them.I was having such a good time watching and visiting with all the pilots I never touched my camera.Alltough the wheather could have been better there still was a fair amount of time to fly.Roger and Jim did a great job I can't wait for next year.Even with the marginal weather the event seems to be growing for only being its second year.

Roger,
Thanks for another great event. The even organization was outstanding and everyone had a great time. Jim and the Airport Board are great guys and the people in the community are very nice. I look forward to the event next year and have already reserved the tent. You did an outstanding job and the pilots had a ton of fun. Can't wait until next year.
P.S. Put your bid in now for great weather with the man upstairs, I am.

Thanks Roger for a great event. Bob and I both enjoyed the flying site and after burning 73 gallons of Jet-A we finaly went home. Your site is perfect for a jet rally and we are looking forward to next year.
Good job..

Roger,
It was a great jet meet. Thanks to you and Jimbo for putting it on. I was happy to see Sharon up and about too.
We didn't let the weather keep us from getting the Flash first flight done. Scott Harris did his usual class A job of doing the flight. Thanks Scott, I'm a lucky dude to have your help. The AMT USA 180 electric start was smooth and plenty of power. Seems like a great choice for this jet so far. It is strange to listen to an AMT start itself while we just sat there. Nothing was hooked up to it like big air tanks and boxes etc. I know Jetcat dudes aren't impressed, but it was fun.
Now if I can keep the T-500 and F-16 from catching fire, Scott will test fly it also. Thanks to the guys that helped put the propane fire out. Only melted a few air lines. The rest of the jet is fine.
See ya next time.
Chris

RE: Rt 66 Jets Litchfield Illinois
Thanks Roger and Jim for the good time I had at the Route 66 Jet Rally this year.
There was a lot of good flying that took place especially considering all the rain but as soon as it would stop....out came the planes!
Looking forward to next year when I plan to get in a mega number of flights and just plain....have a good time!
The number of pilots that were there was terrific not even considering all the rain that hit. I can only imagine how many would have shown up with a rain free weekend (like next years will be) !
Looking forward to next time......

RE: Rt 66 Jets Litchfield Illinois
Rog, I know you've been inviting me for years, but you can count on me being at Route 66 this year with my 3rd Gen..
I'll need a tent, a room and lots of Kero..
by the way, what additional ordinance is available besides what I got with my kit?
