Richard

I'll probably get there around 12 - that's where my CD flies. Was heading out there this morning but he called it off - too cold and windy

I'm a member of all there clubs, but I fly out of CCRC most of the time since I live maybe 10 miles away...

I'm the first and only tubine flyer at CCRC - I'll be flying my ShocJet there mostly since it flies off grass like nothing. Once I build my other Jets, I'll fly them at PGRC and DCRC:

Mr DJ,

I hope you have better weather sunday.....But the forecast doesn't look promising right now....

It seems that you live very close to the old Doug,s hobby shop on 301...been there many times....

Yeah, Richard

The weather will be only slightly better

And yes, right next to Doug's Rip Off Hobbies

I'll let you know how it turned out...

BTW, what different birds are you flying?

My CD told me the same. I just wanted all of my turbines on 2.4 - I have 7 freakin' new 2.4 receivers just waiting to be installed...

I sent my turbine back to Jet Central - they ran it ten separate times with no problems. Since its return, I've cranked it up 4 times with no problems, but haven't flown it yet or put through a full tank, but it at least reaches its 180K rpms without shutting off like it did the first time...

Tomorrow I will fly it and see what happens. Will take my 9303 with me just in case I have to switch it...

Thanks...
It's a little strange that JetCentral didn't change anything and after your re-install install, it works fine. At the very least, I would start it up and jiggle the throttle connections to see if it's reliable. Did you swap out the 2.4 Rx for another one? Could be cold solder joint internally for the throttle channel on the Rx itself.

Hey, Marty...

I don't think they tested it with a 2.4...

I hadn't thought of a lose joint or connector on the 2.4 receiver and it is the same one. I have started it 4 times with no problems... I think I'll also carry with me another 2.4 receiver since I have 7 of those expensive mothers hanging around...

Thanks for the idea...

For this canopy locking issue, if you are using 2 electronic valves, plug them into the same channel and see if you can adjust their on and off points far enough apart.

If you can, then you can plug them both into one channel and just use a slow enough ATV setting and you can do it on one channel with no mixing.

Yeah they are pretty pricey. When I got my 12FG on 72Mhz, my thoughts were to migrate slowly to 2.4 once I got the module but after a few weeks I didn't like the idea of constantly swapping the modules. That coupled with the premise that once I got complacent about not having to worry about the frequency board, I didn't want to accidentally shoot someone down when flying on 72. Good luck with your flight and sign off tomorrow.

Sounds easy enough, Matt...

But I would need it to be reversed when closing the canopy... Canopy first then lock...

Sorry computer problems plus I am babysitting.

I am not sure why you need a sequencer. Here is the sequence (as I understand it) assuming the canopy starts in the "up" position with the locks "unlocked"

1.) The single "canopy channel" starts actuating slowly (in the "canopy down" direction).

2.) Canopy valve actuates and the canopy closes

3.) "Canopy channel" continues to move and the "canopy lock" valve now locks the canopy.

Canopy is now down and locked.

To open the canopy, the sequence is reversed.

1.) The single "canopy channel" starts actuating slowly (in the "canopy up" direction).

2.) First the "canopy lock" valve unlocks

3.) The "canopy channel" continues to move (in the "canopy up" direction) and then the canopy opens.

This ALL depends on being able to set the electronic valve actuating points far enough apart. This is basically what a JR channel expander does. But in some cases the electronic switches can be set far enough apart to accomplish the same thing.

I'll give it a shot...

Many thanks...

Regarding FASST testing...
I tested my new 12FG yesterday.
Turned-on the transmitter, went outside and put it on the floor of my van.
The RF signal had to penetrate thru the steel in my vehicle...and thru both sides of my wife's Honda...
and then thru the exterior wall of my home. I went back inside and turned the receiver on.
The LED was red for about 1 second and then SOLID GREEN.
The FASST RF lock is amazing.

Matt, can you divulge your source for these wonder fans? I hope that it is not Sean numerically machining them out of titanium! [8D]

They are 5 volt Sunon brushless fans, I used them on a design for GM. They cooled a unit that let you watch your Tivo files in your mini fan. I got a dozen or 2 left if you want one.

Yes, the lock is awesome, I have done ‘stupid’ tests but it just keeps working.

I had a ‘heated’ discussion with one guy who basically told me I was a liar! It was impossible; it could not work etc. etc. .
Well, as you have found, it does!
It is without doubt the best RF lock I have flown with.
In over a year of flying in all conditions, different locations, jets, props and heli, etc..
It has never missed!
Always locked on fist time, not a single non instructed command.

The 12FG is also just an amazing TX .

Just got my 12FG for less than $689.00[X(]. I took a chance on it, and it IS 14 channel just like the 14mz[8D]...Screen is a little small and dark after using the 14mz's screen, but for the money...one can not go wrong if one is not blindly brand faithful

I flew with the 12fg today for the fist time. I did a range check I had someone stand next to thehe plane with there
cell phone I walked and walked and walked and walked with my cell phone and my transmitter of course and it was like I was standing
right next to the plane whole time. No jitters no shakes nothing just a solid link. I walked father then I usually do for the 72 mhz stuff
and some of the people were shocked that I was so far out and it was still responding.

Very happy with the Futuba Fasst. I feel a safer at the field now. Now I can put in into the booemrang I needed to test it
out on something else first. I didn't want to put it into my first jet without checking things out.
now If I could get the programming figured out. It would be Golden

Has software been released to make the 12FG 14 channels, or am I missing something?
