I agree, the flying of these two guys was the best I have EVER seen anywhere in the world. Magnificent
They thrilled pilots and public alike, spontaneous applause from all quarters, well done guys, brilliant..[8D]
Paul Gray
PS
I hope someone got a picture of the mirror pass with the two large Panthers, I don't think you could have got your hand in between them

Thanks Guys. Just returned home, unpacked and showered..... Wow what a good weekend. Great pics Treadstone, It's always great to see what they look like, because at the time we are normally too busy to appreciate how they actually look.
With you on the free flight front. I had a great night on Friday ( Till Bob Ryan destroyed my favourite toy in a air/ hand launch incident that he came away from unscathed )
Eric, Thanks for the compliment. I think that 297 mph statement may have been a little bit of commentary exaggeration Still darn fast and a blast to fly.
Regards Al

Surprised that you and Ali have allowed this unacceptable state of affairs to exist for so long...[sm=biggrin.gif]

Hey David,
You are more than welcome anytime. Maybe we can have a go at Jetpower????
All you need to do is bring a big turbine glider/ Airliner or 1/5th scale panther......... Hey I will save you the aggravation. Just buy one of mine or Dave's and we are all set.
Eric. The official record is held buy a Bandit doing 260 something MPH. The Internet record is 301 or 302 mph held by a Dynamic Soaring glider. I did have a half hearted go at beating this and on one of the early shakedown flights with My JMP Firebird I registered 298MPH ( In a straight line ) Using the Weatronic GPS measuring system. I then applied to the guinness book of records to attempt to break the world record only to be told they were not interested and that I had to contact the FAI. After that I sort of lost interest. So if anyone wants a real fast firebird I know where there is one sitting doing nothing, unless of course someone can put me in touch with the FAI so we can finally put these glider guiders at rest as to what really is the fastest toy out there
Dave... Your comment about your bandit being faster than my bob cat almost doesnt warrant a response, its that daft
Regards Al

Also Dave....
Do you mind removing the third pic in post 10????? Those two Panthers are way too far apart. You are making us look bad [:-] and that's my job ( When it comes to the flying anyway )

RE: Ali & Dave Stephens at the British Nationals...
For the record Ali's free flight model was badly damaged in a mid air on Friday during the evening FF session. This may have been due to friendly fire from a fellow Al's Hobbies employee attempting FF formation flying.
Blood was shed and time was spent at A&E, that will teach me to get someone else to launch my Mcutcheon.
The FF session on Saturday was enlivened by many people parking directly downwind of the FF launch area, I hope no insurance claims will be entertained from these 'enlightened' individuals.

Hi Craig,
We both use Graupner MX22 Radios running a JR 10 DS rx's through a power box 40-24 professional. You need the nose weight so we both use sub C 3300 mah Nimh 6 cell chunky batts right up front. Both have a Futaba 352 Gyro fitted to ailerons. Mine has a Tam jets Failsafe apart from that both of them have the same set up of JR 8411 and 8511 servos.
Sandor.. Don't even go there with Dave's Turbine. This thing is so far out of warranty, you wont believe. I just hope the glow plug is still left usable in this when ( Not if..... When!) it blows up. Add this to what he has done to his P-60 in his Turboprop and I am sure there must be a case for Dave to actually be banned from touching a turbine.
Regards Al
