Hi

The Box I received my plane in was about
4ft X 2ft X 2ft Weight, I am not sure but
I can say about 30lbs because of the wood framing.

Hi Guys;;

Ihave started my build of the new JL L-39 ARF
If you don`t mind, I would like to post a few
pics and info changes to what they have done to
make it better than the oild version,
So far the plane, to me, is the best bang for the buck.
I recomend.

Hi Bob;

I used the bypass on my JL F-15 and I found it
to be a good thing.
Not everyone will agree with me but it keeps the
fuse from building up too much pressure that
causes gear door opening a little bit in the air and
also the ballooning effect of the fuse.
It may add a little weight but not enough to make
a big change in total flying weight.
I will use it in my JL L-39 build.
I will post pics when I get to that part.

I've been using the bypass for over 3 years without any problems.
I fact I like it better, even though I have a 120 in it.

How does she fly with the 120 ENT? Satisfied with that setup?

If I would have another one, I would install a36-37 pounder.
It flies well BUT, if you get in trouble, most probably won't get
out of it.
A 160-180 thruster will be excellent for it.

HI guys;

Here is a pic of my new JL L-39
It is the new version.
They listened to our complaints and cleaned up the plane
a bit.
I will post the build later on Garys L-39 build thread.

Thumbs up

Hi Downwind;

I have not completed my build thread yet but here is a couple of pics that might help you.
From what I see in your pic, you should think about backing up your engine a bit aft to prevent
the exhaust heat from melting your plane when you shut it down. Normal position is about one inch
from the rear of the casing to the bellmouth of the pipe. this will help keep cool air flowing through
your plane.
Send an e-mail to Gary about your engine position or go to his build thread he helped me alot. http://www.rcmf.co.uk/4um/index.php?...ew;topicseen#n or e-mail him SCANCOM@aol.com
He can help.

My opinion.

Here are some pics for you. If they are not clear let me know.
I did some mods to the origional hings but it worked out for me.
I used the JL air cylinders. I thought they would have been too short but they are just fine with zero, zero zero leak
even at 175psi test on them working.

Rember , I have not started my build thread yet so some of the pics are missing info.
Enjoy.

Thanks for the great pictures! That will help alot.
Thanks for mentioning the exhaust pipe. It is actually less than 2cm from the end of the casing to the entrance of the bellmouth, just looks like more I guess.

Yes. I beefed up the turbine hatch cover with balsa sheet and kevlar, that was the only change I knew of.

Remember to re-enforce the door frame at the center because it flexes too much side to side when the door closes.
I made the pics large for you to see more clearer.
Winter is approaching fast in Canada so I have to finish this plane with 4 flights before it comes.

The Wife, Wants me back up stairs
She says I forgot what she looked like. Ha Ha Ha

Just a goal for me before I pack it up for winter.
I would like to repaint it like a Guys real Albatross at the airport.
