Hi;
I deploy the speed brakes first to slow down the plane then I lower the gears and then the flaps.
It works well for me.
=============================
Also for the tube issue, I found that the tube is not strong and requires beefing up, so I used a 1 inch brass plumbing
tube which has the exact inside diameter of the wing tube. I cut it just enough to pass the wing rout about 3 inches.
It will not, i repeat not change your C/G point at all.
Trust me. 71 fligts to date.
I found that the original tube bends at the wing rout enough to have a hard time passing through the fuse center installation tube.
The brass tube will seem a bit heavy to the touch but you will not see the diference in flight at all.

Gear first, takes load off surfaces and they make damn good air brakes, then first flap, full flap, air brakes when lined up, nose down on idle, flare.

Hi;
I deploy the speed brakes first to slow down the plane then I lower the gears and then (last) the flaps for landing to establish a good landing speed
without playing with the throttle too much.
It works well for me.
The reason why I do it this way is because when you lower the speed brakes and gears first, your power settings are established
for that set up and when you lower your flaps, you will need to drop down again in power. If you start off with gears then flaps you will establish
a new setting which is good but when you will deploy your speed brakes at the end you might find yourself going back up on the throttle
which will mess up your approach and you will find yourself playing with the throttle before landing due to sudden slow and under power condition.
I am not telling you what to do, It is just my sharing info with a lot of experience with the Albatross.

Hi guys,
after pepairing right wing and front part of the old version, I had fire on my turbine yesterday. Is there anybody who can sell the rear parts of old Version as spare part?
Thanks in advance for your reply

Hi,
I got this drawing and info about settings from the shop where I bought my L-39 (I think it is version 2). I was told that the drawing is for the Version 1, and that JL has decided not to update it for later versions.
Elevator: +/- 20mm,
Aileron: +/- 25mm (Expo 30%)
Rudder: +/- 35mm (can be adjusted individually)
Flap: when take off: -20mm, when landing: max…
CG is 140-150mm behind the leading edge.
Best regards,
Gorm

There C/G set point is a bit off the mark.
It works very well with me but again that is my set up.
I did very many trials playing with the C/G and came up with that point.
25deg first flap and 45deg on landing flap.

speed brake set with fairings, My 2.6 L custom extended range tank and 1.4L smoke tank,
Wing tip tanks ‘’NEW’’ yellow & black, My custom nose gear steering pins (better quality),
I purchased these part for my plane but sad to say I dinged it two years ago.
I look forward to replacing it but If I can help someone out there, I will.
I am not in it to make profit off these parts, I just don’t need them at this time.
I make molds of all my parts so these I can get rid of.
By the way I am making under wing scale fuel tank with pods just like the real airplane.
I can keep you informed.
If you need a cortex gyro, let me know.
I got some good feed back from my parts available so first com first serve.

How are my tanks holding up.
Let me know if you have ideas to make them better.
Quite a large number of Modelers are using my tanks now.
All good feed backs
Hope all is well.
I will e-mail you the info.

I just bought a Jet Legend L-39, not sure of the version but an older version since it has a 1 piece canopy and no hatches on the nose. What is a good starting elevator to flap mix if using the settings listed a little above. Thanks.

Hi,
CG is 6.25" from LE at root...
Approx 3mm down elevator at 45deg of flap (from memory!)
The G1 had 2 x carbon tubes on the wing and receivers in the fuselage, whereas the G2 uses a single large alloy wing tube...
Cheers
Jeff

So is there any issues with the G1 wings because that must be the version I have. Everything looks great and the plane wasn't flown much at all. There are no cracks or anything like that.

So I have read where guys installed aluminum tubes inside the carbon tubes on the G1 L-39 wings. Even Mike from GJC mentioned it in a post. Does anyone have pictures and what sized tube did you use to go inside the carbon tubes. Thanks in advance.
