Default Ailerons

So on the early version of the Jet Legend L-39 with the aileron servos out in the tip tanks, is there a better way to get the slop out of the ailerons? Just curious what some of you guys did.

Two versions, gen 2 has front access hatches, there are other differences too but that's the most obvious one.

They both fly very well, the gen2 from memory has a different spar set up, canopy changed, aileron servo positions etc.
I had a gen1, fantastic flyer.

I used a Wren 160 which is more than adequate but helps on grass, 140 will be fine.

Give Mike at Global Jet a call or mess. I´ve got one for a few years back from him. Fast shipping and good price

Hello, a Cheetah SP 140 would be more than enough to fly this plane??

160 preferable but 140 fine, may struggle a bit off grass though.

Can someone tell what size afterburner ring will fit the jet Legends L-39?

Ideally I'd like to know the OD of the tailpipe and the ID of the fiberglass tailcone. That way I'll know a range of sizes that will fit in there. My L-39 has not arrived yet.

Thanks,
Joe

L39 does not have afterburner!
Powered by a turbofan engine, suggest you research the Full size!

I really don't care if it's scale or not. I've been wanting to but one on one of my jets and thought it might be easier on a new assembly.
So never mind, I'll look into adding an AB ring to one of my existing jets.

Might be worth looking at Unilight.at, they are expensive but they will list the sizes on their website iirc.

Finally my L-39 is going to be shipped this week. I'd like to add landing lights to the tip tanks. Does anyone have a source for tip tank clear lenses?

Jet Legend or BVM will have everything you need, The BVM PNP version comes with tank lights and clear covers.

All I need is lenses that will fit the tank tips. I'm sure Jet Legends or BVM would want to sell me a complete lighting kit (if they offer one). That's not what I want. I'm doing my own lighting and was hoping that someone found something that would work, or made forms to do their own. If so I'd be willing to purchase a set for a nominal fee.

My L-39 finally arrived and I'm in the process of putting it together. Can someone confirm the recommended elevator throws and flap compensation?

BVM PNP instructions say +1.5" and -1.25" for the elevator. That seems excessive and is quite different than the +/- 20mm. shown in post 1891's attachment.

Also how much elevator compensation is needed for TO and Full Flaps? Up or down?

Thanks,
Joe
