Treadstone
Make yourself known at StAthan you scoundrel!!
The drought here in Wales has lasted for many a year, farmers have to drill boreholes to let there sheep live. The 2000m runway needs water to stop it cracking up.

He he, I'll catch up with you at Snathen Dave, I'll be taking my B Boomer as the Velox is still not complete. Tickles on the tum sounds fun. I fear there may be a lot of 'Trannies' there though, of one sort or another, judging by the foregoing posts. I'm working till 10pm on Friday night, but i hope to be there early'ish. Talking of weather, When i worked in Switzerland, they said, "If you can see the mountains, it's going to rain. If you can't see the mountains, it IS raining." He he. Cheers. Ray.

Ray...Whazup.....Speak..or its the rack for you at St Athen...tickles on the tum and all that....

There are two types of weather in Wales...One when its raining ....and one when its about to rain...

Wales is just about 3000miles off the east coast of America. You won't need a passport Dave, but you will need a tenner if you make a mistake & go over the Severn bridge, It's free to come out though. See you there. Ray

I wonder if Europe will get the new Elan's before the USA?

I have one coming and am hoping for a "Elan Build" thread here at RC Universe...

Build thread will be very short, Alan reckons only 4-4.5 hours.

Is the Elan to Replace, supercede or run alongside the Boomerang Intro ? What is the difference between the Elan and the Boomerang Intro, apart from cost and constuction methods & materials.

When I say the Elan build is 4 to 5 hours, that is for the airframe assembly!! The turbine system, radio, servos, and retracts installation takes as long as you care to take over it!
The Elan build is fast because the centre section fuselage and centre wings out as far as the booms is a single fibreglass moulding. No gluing required. For example, the Navy colour scheme model in the photos on our website [link]http://www.boomerangjets.com[/link] was simply taken from the kit box and put together in five minutes for those first photographs. That shows how pre-built the kit is. To complete the airframe assembly, all that's required is to clean away any flash around the spar outer tube and alloy rods holes in the wing moulding, fix the supplied flap horns, glue in all the hinges (all the slots are pre-cut), open up the servo mount openings, (all servo mounts are supplied), clean away the tailplane covering to let it slip over the fins, check and adjust if necessary all the small bolt fixings for the wings and tailplane (stab), fit in the pilot seat bathtub, put in your pilot (not supplied) and fix the canopy. In go the C/F spar and alloy rods, and the airframe is ready for the gear install. For me that's one evenings work. And I'm slow!

Fit the turbine, radio, servos and retracts and go fly.

PS. An Elan has been timed at over 180 MPH and can take off or land in about 60 feet. Watch for our new video out shortly and see for yourself.

Yes, same as in the Baby B. or the XL, the hinges just need CA gluing.
