Wrong L39.[]
I am looking for info on the Jet Legend L39 not the Savex.
The Savex is too small for my eyesight.
The Jetlegend L39 as per photo attached.

I like the size of this model, I'm moving up to bigger airframes too!
Eagerly waiting to see reports on it!

Hi Chris & Jeremy,
This is the one I like because of its size, the only problem is that although lots of them seem to have been sold, nobody is giving out any flying info.
I will keep asking and who knows what might turn up.
Mark. Looking forward to your build thread.
All the best,
John C

RE: Jet Legend L39 who has them flying.
John, one of the biggest sellers was the power needed to fly, yes the JL version is bigger, the Large version of Skymasters can fly useing a 20 to 36 lb turbine. I also watched the video of the SM L-39 powered by a jetcat P-80 and it flew great and on landing it comes in at a very low speed.
I should have mine in less then 2 weeks and then I will start a step by step build thread.
time to get out to the garage and clear off the work tables..

Here is a nice product page at topmodel france.
http://www.topmodel.fr/product_detail.php?id=15461
John C I'd also like some real flight reports and video before buying or considering this model. There were some reports the intakes were too small for larger turbines. The stock gear looks the same as other Sparks gear such as the gear I have for the F16. Too many flights, take offs and landings have proven them to be excellent in service.

Thanks Joe,
Excellent site, very good photo's of the finished plane.
At least from these you get a better idea of size and finish & I must admit the more I see of it the more I like it.

RE: Jet Legend L39 who has them flying.
Have spoken to somebody that owns & flys one this evening.
His verdict was good value for money. Flew very well,a little bit touchy on landing into headwind with full flap. Take off with small amount of flap very smooth. Landing speed very slow & manageable with good control.
Oleos worked well on grass surface & very well on tarmac.
Paintwork not the best but very good for the price.
Rudder linkage needs looking at.
Elevator & rudder easy to take off for transportation if required.
Probably will fly best with a 160 Turbine, but should fly OK with a 120 Turbine.
Not as heavy as Airworld L39 & same size.
No major bad points & basically good value for money.
Hope this helps,
John C
Looks like I will have to buy one. Just the colour scheme to decide upon.

I like the Slovackian scheme myself, the gloss wouldn't bother me. I've emailed JL for some pics of the sticker set they plan to include with it and will post here once received. The camo one is nice too but would need to dull the gloss. As I have found with my raptor on a glaring day the light reflections can get you in the eyes a bit [8D]

Airbrake and gear dorrs you do yourself. Like this on all JL models. Also looks like you have a few wood bits to glue in which I believe are for the fuel tanks. This is a photo from one of my customers who got one in the other week.

RE: Jet Legend L39 who has them flying.
Hello Ken & all others,
Just received a CD from the UK Jetlegend Representative with some nice photo's of the L39.
I was suprised by a lot of the detail that they revealed, also the legs look really good.
The glue joints seem well prepared & finished, tailpipe looks excellent.
I can see what people say about the obvious seams, but I think a tastefull amount of weathering should do the trick, especially if it as well done as the earlier post by Tailhook.
( Come on Tailhook how did you do it )
I will load up a few to show what I mean.
All the best,
John C

And some more photo's.
Shows the legs,CNC formers & glue joints as well as some of the panel lines.
Another nice touch you get a tub & two seats.

RE: Jet Legend L39 who has them flying.
Had this week trouble with my internet connection at home, it's solved now, so only could post my photos this evening...
I will continue as my assembly progresses... Only one hour per day in the workshop, for the moment... [&o]
Best Regards,
Nicolas.

And the gloss isn't so bad when you see the full size VH-ATD which the JL uses as the serial number. Only the nose number is different.

RE: Jet Legend L39 who has them flying.
Hi Joe,
There is a video on the Jet Legend site of the L39. Not the best of quality & it looks like it might have been the first flight. But powered with a P120 it looks good.
