Yes, they do fly, and fly well too. It's no secret that the Velox has a few strange characteristics around the stall and it's also sensitive to the CG setting...but once you abide by the rules and know the limits of the airframe (same as any other model) you're in business. You might find this useful:

If I can help further, pse feel free to pm me.

I think what you describe regarding the stall is exactly what happened to mine, I got the nose too far up at low speed and the elevator was blanked and became inneffective. I could not get the Velox out of the nose up position and it eventually rolled inverted and went in.
If you avoid that situation it is a very nice flyer!

Junk is junk, no matter.

Boy, I would love to tell everyone what your other RCU name is but it's really not important to start another flame thread on your dumb *****, its funny how even when you post with your real name still makes you look like an idiot. Next time don't be such a moron and use a different IP address if you don't want to get busted.
A good friend of mine has given me some stick time on his Velox after I lost my Hot Spot and it is a wonderful flying jet, a lot nicer and a lot easier than my RIP Hot Spot.

RE: Does the Velox fly?
It sounding like a "DeepStall"
Because of the placement of the T-tail horizontal tailplane is to close to
the wing.
The wing at high angles of attack blankets the stab/elevator making them
less or ineffective (note the Long booms on BVMs stuff moving the stab back, same thing with the bobcats)
Its a problem with t-tail designes that has to be watched.
If you look at the pictures in RCJI, the amount of elevator shown in that picture would cause
most aircraft to.... loop .

I agree with you on the tail placement, bit I don't stay with producyts that don't work.
On to the next project.

the product does work , and it works great
we where the first one,s to receive the Velox last year
we have set a very safe CG point and trows , however if people dont use them things can go wrong.
i am sorry for your loss , but you never said anything about what went wrong.
the worst thing that can happen is that if you make it to slow , the tail will drop on you .
and it looks that is what happened to you.
this is a warning that has been said in the manual .
there are plenty out there who are flying it , and are happy with them.

RE: Does the Velox fly?
Flies fantastic.
Super Bee powered one came out to 21 pound 2 ounces with just the UAT full and no lead. Plenty of power for it. Adding more thrust if you want to really get wild with it but flies just fine on the Bee including verticals. P-70 is way more than enough. The airframe is very clean and I saw it pass an Elan with a Wren SuperSport in it (Bee powered Velox). Slows down quite nice with only takeoff flaps. Haven't tried full yet...doesn't really need it though. I can only imagine full flaps and some crow it would probably come close to hovering.
Thanks to the information from Dick Spreadbury. His numbers made a great starting point especially with the flap / elevator mix was spot on for no change in pitch.
Cheers..................buy it.......fly it.....I think there will be many more of these around soon.

RE: Does the Velox fly?
I personally witnessed the maiden on a Velox at our local field last sunday. Flew GREAT!!! Power was an AMT 180, plane flew well, had great speed even at half throttle and landed fine without any issues.. If your velox does not fly, you need to look at your setup, probably C.G.

RE: Does the Velox fly?
Yes, it flys! And very well. 3 more flights last Sunday on a 400ft runway. It's a missle with the Mercury and slows nicely for landing. CG is slightly forward of manual. Will be moving it back a little next flights.
