Default flame out at FIJR

Did anyone else notice that there were a lot of flameouts at Lake Wales this year more then I have ever seen at an event. Any ideas of why or any brand that stands out for this problem.

Well I had a couple of flame outs on my f-100 due to a crack on the fuel tank which lead the uat to run dry. In my opinion brand of turbine didnt have nothing to due with it. jetcats, jet central, and rti all had flame outs, nothing strange just coincidence. PABLO (RTI)

I hope your F-100 was not damaged! How does it fly, my friend is building the same plane.

I had three flames outs with my Bobcat at FIJR this year. After changing the engine, ECU and pump I finally traced to an intermittent thermocouple, which is something I have never seen before. I put a gas soldering iron on it and it read 500 deg for 3-4 min then zero then 30. Changed it and flew all weekend with no problems.

I ran out of fuel, then snagged the barb wire fence.

I could be wrong but this post might be a underhanded way to get someone to say one particular brand was flaming out alot at the jet event. That would of course get a "Well my turbine never flamed out so it must be better" response, but like I said I could be wrong.

I was questioning it more to find out if it was a fuel thing or any other common factor or just a coincidence I did not see one brand stand out to be worse then an other. Just trying to see what was the cause if any no hidden agenda

Atleast two were not flame outs. The pilots ran them out of fuel.

Flying and having just too much fun!!!

I look for smoke trails if there's a flameout. If theres a trail, the fuel was still pumping, so maybe there's something worth checking into later like what happened, brand of turbine, etc.

Anybody see any smoke trails?

Flame outs shlame outs...

I know FOR A FACT that Big Johnny "Which way tightens" Hernandez could not get ANY of his engines to run all weekend. There were mutterings that he was so scared of the mighty F-15 from Boynton Beach he sabotaged his flying crap shovels to save face.

Hrumph!
