One rib, the second rib already has a hole, which you can see inside the flap servo void.

I know the rib next to the void has a hole, but going from there, I do count 3 ribs, or do I see it wrong?

No but the first one is the flat face of the wing where the carbon rod is, so you will be drilling the face in front of the rod and one rib. Just take a judgement from my picture and drill, you will be ok.

wim you can use a button valve on the gear doors, use the button valve on one and a normal 2 way on servo slow.

I just drilled a little behind the main rod in the end. I will put the single lead (XBus) through the slit in the wing mechanism.

Muzz, is that an optical illusion, or do you have hollow rods in the wing??

Is the flap setup with the single pin a solid thing? It seems like it could be a problem area over time? Just wondering, if they have used this with any other SM jets.

I actually found some play with the flaps with this torque rod setup, so I hysol'd a couple of pieces of thin brass sheets in the slot to close it up and for a better overall action.

Barry

Yeah thats what I was afraid of, I will probably beef mine up as well. I even considered using a typical external rod with a control horn. Well see how once I can get in there and look at it.

Can anyone suggest what the kind of torq requirement the jet needs for the spoilers? I am looking to go with a smaller servo just not sure about how much torq the need to function. I was thinking on the slats to use something around the 200+ oz of torque, any thoughts?
Im thinking 300ish for the rudders, the stabs and flaps are going to be the maz I can get .

Fender,

I have JR 8911 all round, and Sävox SH1350 on the slats. I did initially opt for the MG version of that servo, but they were out of stock.

I have 3421s on the slats (factory recommendation) and MKS 660a+ on everything else.

Thanks for the info, I am going to use the BLS173s on the slats, BLS 172s on the on flaps, BLS177a on stabs and BLS175s on everything else. Im doing a Sbus setup like my F-15, my only beef with futaba right now is the lack of a good 300ish Sbus servo. I think with a single servo running the flaps have a higher torq will be easier on the servo and due to the extreme loads on the servo mounts for the stabs I opted for the metal top half of the servo with the 177s.

Congrats Mick, did you lower the peak RPM?

Here's my servo count:

Savox SB2231 for the two stabs,
http://www.savoxusa.com/Savox_SB2231...avsb2231sg.htm

SB2270 four in each wing and everything else except air valve I used 1250:
http://www.savoxusa.com/Savox_SB2270...avsb2270sg.htm

Cheers,
Barry

Sure like the price on those savox servos. Hung up on sbus though, and if I use the robbe 2018, it's still $40 a pop for the node.
