just noticed your lights next to the main mounts (main landing gear, navy-ese). Turns out, there is no light there. SM just painted it red, don't know why. I almost put a light there as well. I have a buddy who was a Tomcat RIO, he has been real helpful on that sort of thing.

looks like it was flying great!

If anyone has time, could you take a picture of the TAT probe that holds the nose on? Put a ruler behind it if possible so I can get the scale. Mine did not come with it so I will turn out another one.

Thanks!

I think you're buddy is right about the light location, easy enough to deactivate them if necessary. I use the 12" pilots, legless.

Bart, Can I fly to Australia for an "Aussie Bart Mad Scientis course on how to set up the 18MZ and gyro?" You have got this thing figured out! I have three of the 2018's, really like them. But I'm leaning towards the Royal SRS for the F-14. Might not hurt my brain as much..... Really appreciate all your input.

How many mAh's are you able to dump back in per flight?
I seem to be able to get about 850 mAh per back in each of the two packs per flight, meaning I used 1700mAh per flight, seems a lot, what you all have?

Thanks in advance,
Barry

Barry how or where did u route your servo wires out of the wings? Also I'm having a problem with the main gear stopping on the last inch of travel/rotation, did you say you were running one ev5 type valve?

No power box Eric, but I'll get a reading.
Keith, I run all the wires through forward part of the wing root. Probably the least travel when wings are sweeping.

Yes Keith, I'm running EV5 valve and the whole system is flawless after a little WD40 here and there plus some "physical therapy"

Thanks, I hit mine with some WD40 the other day and figured things may loosen up with some usage. Its my left main thats really the problem, the right works better but still not perfect. The nose gear is great

Eric, RX on, 2.5 amps, what is yours? However I'm using guzzling but powerful Savox servos, and today, without too much messing around before taking off, I was drawing 1200 mAh per flight.

Regards,
Barry

If it matters mine draws close to two amps, not sure about how much I will use per flight yet. Any idea how much the swing wing battery uses per flight or per cycling of the wings? The manual says a 3000 Mah battery that seems to be over kill for two or three cyclers per flight. I typically only fly my jets 2-4 times before charging. I would like to go with something like a 2200 mah pack

Seems like you have some efficient Futabas there Keith!

The actuators that I'm now using are the "servo" type with three wires, which means there's always a load, probably higher load when the wings are half swept and I seem to think I average about 250 mAh per flight and surely the on/off type would use less. So, I would say anything over 1000 mAh would be plenty.

Regards,
Barry

I think I remember someone saying the stock actuators were being stretched back out when swung back or something, may have been Barry not sure. I am interested in this as well, the stock actuators dont seem durable enough for such a big task but I am not sure of the specs. I know they are made by firgelli.

Thank you Eric sounds we're all in the same range.

The actuators are probably the same, but without the control board.

Hello

an other thing, be careful about air durit on gear cylinders, some of them can remove with pressure
if your gear is white paint, skymaster put painting on the connections and it is necessary to remove it

Beautiful flight. That was a fairly aggressive flight and no worries regarding airframe integrity. Had that exact flight been flown with "another" manufacturers Tomcat she would've been in pieces after a minute or so.

Well done Skymaster.
