jethead,
As far as the OS 91's, you may not have deadsticks! With over two years on my F-15, it has yet to die in the air. Plugs last a long time too.
McCoy MC-9
Tom Cook (JMP) System II bifurcated pipe
Tom Cook (JMP) Inflight mixture control
Always used 5% Magnum Jet Fuel
Twin 12 oz fuel tanks plumbed in parallel with no header tank
Ramtec Fan w/pitot pressure probe
Over 120 flights (~8 minutes each)
Good Luck!

Get the OS! You may not be able to get a K&B anyway ( Unless it is used). I had a K&B in my F86 and never had a dead stick ( older 7.5 not the 48). I then upgraded to the OS 46VX and it produces more power! I will never go back to the K&B's even though the OS cost more!
Have fun!

Stick with the OS. While SOME guys have mastered the K&B's...the vast majority of guys out there who have tried them have had the unpleasant experience of examining the gliding capabilities of thier jets with them.
Ask around, and you will find an OVERWHELMING majority will prefer the OS91.
In the long run, it's a lot cheaper to buy the more expensive OS than it is to trash an airplane when the K&B cuts at an inconvenient moment.
