RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets
Hope you don't mind if I clutter up your thread a little more jimbo, but I'm hoping the experts will weigh in on latest CG info. I've got the plane rigged (Gen 3, P-120's, 5200x4 LiPo's in nose) and it appears to be nose heavy! This surprised me because I was expecting to have to add lead in the nose to balance.
Is this the best CG to fly? Do you measure from the LE of the slat or the LE of the wingroot (which doesn't quite look like the picture below)?
Thanks in advance.
BTW I asked "Boss Hog" aka Billy, but I don't think he can remember his CG 'cause that was something like 600 flights ago that he set it up!!!!!!!!!!

Back to the gear issue ... you guys may think this is overkill, but I am setting my mains up on one air system and the nose on a separate air system, using a valve for each. These are big cylinders and with forward retraction and big doors the gear have to pull with them, I'm not sure that you can get too much air to the cylinders. Here is a pic of the removable module I made ... if anyone needs it, I can produce the parts in short order on the CNC router.

I also engineered my aft nose door a bit differently ... the phenolic brackets that the strut door links attach to are set up to swivel on the strut, so there is no torque on the door when steering. I have been keeping construction notes and the details of how to set this up are at the end of the document along with a series of photos. Doc can be downloaded from http://homepage.mac.com/pilot114

Hey Joe just follow the diagram form the leading edge extension for the first few flights them adjust to your style. As a last minute ck just reach down and raise the cannon with our finger tips say 10"....the nose wheel should return to about a 3/4 lb psi. Yea it is very light on the nose wheel at 165mm. Make sure your have a positive wing incident....does not have to be much just some.

Ciao, what you think about the Bob Violet U.A.T. system on the fuel system? do you mount one? today we lost a Mibo A10 due to an engine flame out during a go around and in the last month people experience 6 flame out (jet cat, simjet, pst and graupner) and lost 2 jets. All using UAT system. Michael Wurz (the ostrian guy who develop the 4° gen) do not use any. Fuel tank directly to the Jet cat P 70 anbd never had any problems. What is your general experience ?
My english is crap but I think you understand what I'm saying.

Here is a fix for the 4th gen "soft" nose wheel. Adapts to the 4th Gen nose gear with minor modification. More info e-mail [email protected]

There have been many discussions on the merits/faults of the BV UAT and similar products. Most guys seem to be in favor of them, some don't. However, I don't think there is anything in particular about the MIBO A-10 that makes it more or less suitable for UAT's. I've got the BV UAT's in mine with P-120's and they work just fine.
On the other hand, the long fuel runs in the A-10 do require that the system be properly sized, plumbed & vented to ensure you don't build up too much positive pressure during fueling or negative pressure when operating at high power settings. I had to increase the size of my vent fittings and lines to avoid that problem.
If you are using twin JetCat turbines you might want to take a look at this thread (post #12):

Turns out there are some precautions you need to take with a twin engine installation.
