Default I got a Hornet!

Fei Bao F-18F. Just got this bad boy this weekend. I hope she flies as good as she looks.

I got her together for a quick photo shoot with my new and yet unflown TJ F-16.

Raf - I don't want to hear about evil Super Hornet landings!

Nice!
I have the exact same jets... still unflown.
What are you putting in them for power?

I have a P-120SE for the F-16 and I will be buying a Titan SE for the Hornet.

Have you started building the F-18 yet? If so, any issues?

Some hints on the "bug"

Inspect the way the plane sits on the ground and if you identify that the plane sits at "0" AOA or -AOA try to reposition the height of the nose retract so when looking at the plane from sideways it has to have a positive AOA( something like +2 degrees)... I added wood shims to accomplish this. It adds for a smoother takeoff behaviour. My C of G is at 135mm behind the leading edge measured at wing root. My "Bug" flys on a RAM 1000 (more than enough power).

I choose to put some carbon to reinforce in high stress areas...

Also check the main gear gear doors. the smaller rear ones needed to open first, then the bigger one. On closing, its the other way around. Makes for some interesting sequencing[X(]

good luck,
Edgar

Does the Fei Bao F18F have a ball bearing mount for the elevators?

Awesome looking jet. Can't wait to see it in person. Nice scheme and different than most.

I,m just about to start installing the gear doors on my SM F18E. I don't know if the doors are the same as the Fei Boa but why are they sequenced, do they overlap? What valve did you use to achieve this?

One door open 'less' than the other. If not opened in order, one would get stuck with the other, just as the strut is coming down. The doors looks perfectly fine when closed.
Since I already had an UP-3 and the tamjets failsafe, I needed a solution that could take a single retract signal. Ended up taking the smaller doors into a separate robart valve and using micro switches to sequence the servo connected to the robart with the servo connected to the UP-3. Both servos are connected to the tamjet failsafe.

Hello,

I have the FB F-18F, which is the same as the Skymaster. The doors work fine for me without a sequencer. You may also want to try a BVM air micro switch on the nose gear to close all the doors, rather than an electronic valve.
