RE: Behotec 66 KIT Turbine?
The turbine weight by itself is 3 lbs 0.55 oz (1.379 kg). The airborne components (ECU, fuel pump, filters, valves, I/O board, mount, and 2500 mah 3 cell LiPo battery) is 1 lb 4.8 oz (590 grams).

I think I can arrange to set up my turbine test stand at my son's house in the next couple of weeks, and run the Behotec there. I feel confident it will run beautifully once I can get back to doing RC stuff...

I apologize to everyone who has been waiting for the test report on the Behotec kit. I see a more detailed explanation is needed. On February 23rd, my wife and I separated after 13 years of marriage, and I moved into a one bedroom apartment. All of my RC equipment is currently stored at my wife's house, and I don't even have a workbench set up in my apartment.

RE: Behotec 66 KIT Turbine?
Guys
This engine was regularly entered into the Gas Turbine Builders Assoc annual efficiency tests. Of the three I've owned all have ran faultlessly. I've exprienced hours of flying and its reached the stage well past any usual service period (there is no UK rep since Mac passed on), but I've reached a stage if its not broken, don't fix it[8D] This is German engineering at its best IMHO

RE: Behotec 66 KIT Turbine?
I finally got my priorities straight and made time to test the engine! [8D]
The J66 has been sitting on its test stand in my closet since February, just as I left it at the completion of the assembly process. Yesterday I set up the test stand in friends garage, fueled it up, and initiated the "calibration run" (i.e. a program in the ProJET ECU/GSU which must be executed for the first run of the engine, and which establishes engine running parameters).
The Kero-start process worked perfectly the first time, and J66 reached idle after about ~45 seconds. The calibration run automatically controlled the engine up to full power (~120,000 rpm), and back to idle, after which the ECU entered "auto" mode, returning throttle control to my transmitter. All in all, a perfect test run!
Next step - installing it in my new Elan...

I cannot remember any english instructions though the early ones into the UK probably came with German instructions anyway. That aside these are easy to dismantle and service. There are standard how to guides online as back up and there will be back issues/review in RCJI when Mac MacKenzie was alive as the UK importer. If Tom Wilknson or Eric Banner were online they'd point to the correct issue of the magazine. A good number of GTBA members (fees only$20) had these at one time or another being half the committee was in Norfolk.
THe only problem I had a long time ago was when pushing out the shaft and split the ceramic bearing, woops, then had to learn how to rebuild a bearing by telephone from another GTBA member.

RE: Behotec 66 KIT Turbine?
I have created a little video of my J66 (built from the kit) demonstrating a Kero-Start on the test stand:
