RE: Jet Photos from TG 2008 Day 1
It's the new CompArf A4. Wolfgang Kluhr flew it for Andreas (who was flying his new Corsair, I posted some other pics over on the Warbirds forum)... The A4 was awesome! I think the announcer said JetCat Titan power, but I did not confirm that with the CA guys.
The big F86 is Ali's.
The PST Jets guys flew their composite Reaction 54 derivative "after hours" and it looked great.

Hey, all these planes are BEAUTIFUL...I agree. But since it is a Scale Contest why not do some static judging, of course from 3000 miles!
How can you argue with the F100, but they look too much like a toy when they are all shiny and prestine. Let's see one look battlefield dirty and beat up!
The Comp-arf A4 sets a new precedent for scale realism (out of the box, from what I've seen from 3000 miles), but that blue does not look right, and I can see the engine hatch from here! Also any aficianado knows that the Blue Angels bolted the leading edge slats shut on the A4! I know, I know it only matters that the plane maches the "scale packet", but I still say "gotcha"!

Hey Smoking joe. How you doing? Long time no speak I hope all is well.
You did well to spot the engine hatch on the C-Arf A4. As it doesn't have one... What you can see is part of the scale join line where the front fuselage meets the rear.
The wind was pretty much 90 deg cross till mid day today when it turned to a right to left 5-10 mph.
Franks Dracken is here, and is lucky to still be. He had flutter on one of his practice flights today and was really lucky to get it back down in one piece. I think a servo mount came loose.
Lots of flying today. Second round of Pro Am out the way. The way the rules have changed I will be very surprised if we see a jet win this year.
Highlight for me was Dave Shulmans F-16 flight ( His brothers was ok but not a patch on Shui the jet master ) A t-33 was lost this morning when it hit the fence which was really sad as it was flying really well.
Justin Sands Mig 15 was pretty special oh and Henry has built Sung the most off the hook Airworld Hawk I have ever seen.
Sorry no pics from me as I forgot my camera but I took a whole heap on Shui's Oh and I know its not jet related but the new Comp-arf F4u Corsair with working folding wings is just awesome!
Regards Al

Duk,
Be patient, I've got one of the first two scheduled to deliver to USA. #1 is going to Andy Kane and the next one is mine! I'm planning a USMC scheme.

All is good Ali, just really busy with the ankle biters. Thanks for giving us that are stuck at home a little more to chew on! Good on the A4 join line...it is scale then!
What are you flying? What is Jason flying?
Tell us more about some of the equipment there. I've heard that Graham's F16 is AMAZING!
Did you take a spin on that Corsair?
What is the rule change that will prevent the jets from winning Pro-AM?
Thanks,
SJ

man... the rules are starting to sound like nascar. but i understand where they are coming from and why they are put in place. From the pictures i've seen of all the aircraft over the past years, everyone is a winner just for being invited IMO.
