do you think a p-70 could be used or is it just too heavy?

P-70 no problem, I had one in one of the early JetMach's, To mount it, I used hose clamps and a homemade aluminum mount.
just add some nose weight.

I tell yeah, this plane has finally solved the float landing.

It is so amazing how much it slows down when the flaps come out.
No crow needed.
Drop the flaps and i'm driving it to the runway with quite a bit of power on.
Pull it to idle as I cross the end of the runway and it sits right down at about 12-15mph.
Really impressive.

This is the plane you should be having the special with! Say, $75 and purchase a Jetcat P60 SE.

Ronnie, Bob..
The santa in the white van (aussie post) dropped by this morning and dropped the box containing my JetMach Sports kit off just as I was leaving for work.
I'm contacting the builder who has put his hands up to pull this kit together and post it all in a build thread on here for those who are interested.

When complete, this one will be powered by a Jet Central Super Bee (or maybe a rabbit if i feel like overkill)..
Retracts are on order with Spring Air and should ship any day now.

Regards,
Rob

It can be made to fit, more power than the plane was designed for. You would need to limit full throttle, or derate the RPM.
Need to make a mount for the turbine using hose clamps. See the P-70 installation.

I like the looks of this jet. What type/size of retracts has been used in this airframe??
I have a turbinator kit but from what I have seen this one will build a lot faster and you can do a little more shaping with this one.

Hi shok,

I'm very interested in this plane. I don't have any experience with small turbines like this but they look like they run well. I am interested in getting with you on one of these. I live about 75 minutes from you in Paris so travelling to Rockwall wouldn't be an issue. One question, how long are the flights with the Jetmach sport 60 and the Kingtech 80?

well right now we run the KingTech in the JetMach Super Sport, same basic plane with a tad bigger fuse and swept wings.

It carries about 100oz of fuel. We have never flown longer than 7 minutes yet at a time on the plane but we still have 50oz at least left. So I estimate we should get 10-12 minute flights out of it.

The Sport 60 is flying on a JetCat P-60SE with about 60oz of fuel and we fly about 6.5 minutes.

Although we have another KIngTech coming and we will put this one in the sport.

Bob, It 'seems' to me there is quite a bit of intake air restriction with the P-70. How are the EGT temps?

** EDIT** ... Well maybe not, I didn't realize the whole underside is open for air. [&:]

Yeah the air through the intakes is fine, the super sport has even bigger intake, plus it feeds from underneath as well.

Although on the Sport and Super Sport the motor is not nearly as exposed as the standard high wing JetMach

Thanks!

Maiden was fine, we really poured the coals on the super sport out at the Waco jet rally, had a ball with it, let some other guys take it around, they all seemed to enjoy it.

I may go with the super sport when I get into this. I normally like 12 to 15 minute flights so the larger tanks on the Super Sport would work better for me I believe.

I see that the Kingtech is rated for Kerosene, Jet A1 or diesel. Just curious, how well does the Kingtech 80 run on diesel?

I have yet to run mine on diesel but it's on my to-do list.

I have seen videos of it running on diesel with no problems. Makes a nice little smoke trail as well.
