Default Boomerang engine thrust

I just bought a boomerang assembled but never put in the air. It has a Wren MK3 on it. How much down thrust are you guys running on the turbine. This has 6deg down thrust this seems like a lot. I would think they would run 3 to 4 deg. Thanks George

Agreed. Mine has zero thrust, and flies terrific at all speeds. Check the stab incidence though. I had to shim my stab to achieve zero degree indicence to the wing.

Cheers,

Greg

George,
Ed ask me about downthrust and I think he missunderstood my answer. I have flown with zero and with about 2-3 degrees. I don't tell that much difference in flying, but currently I have about 2 degrees mostly to keep the heat off the bottom of the stab.

I also covered the bottom of the stab with alum. tape after I burned a hole in the covering with a hot start. I now use a start up metal tube to protect the stab during start.

My first 9 flights were in Dallas and used the recommended flap travel. When I brought it to Denver I cut the flap travel to max lift. Then it floated too much on landing and now since I have gone back to recommended flap travel there is now no pitch change from flaps full up to full down.

Thanks Sid and others
Sid I am going to set it at Zero. I have always used a start up tube on my falcon and my discovery. I have 36 flights on the Falcon now.
See you at the field George
