Default SM F-22 Maiden

Congrats Mokulele on your maiden flight of your SM F-22 with PST 1300R.

After a few months of hard work and converting the main gear to the "Stig Mod" Mokulele had a perfect flight today with his F-22. Man that thing was movin even at %50 throttle.
The PST 1300R was purring along and ran great.

Thanks to Stig Anderson for your gear mod, It puts the mains much closer to the cg and vastly improves the ground handing.

Tim good job helping with the PST!

Yes Wayne22 it does have push-pull linkage on the rudders. Knowing the propensity for rudder flutter on the F-22 I decided to go that route. I would have also increased the hinges to four on the rudder but three hinges were already installed when I got it.
Actually the maiden was a non-event due largely to imputs from Stig for the main gear mod and Duke for the flight control throws recommendation and copiloting for me. The PST 1300R was sitting unused for two years. These early PST engines were really tight at the t-wheel and were easily jammed if start-up is too agressive. Timmy made sure that the start-up procedures went smoothly as he has quite a bit of expierence with the PST 1300R. Also thanks to Len Gladstone for his imputs. He also flys the SM F-22 and influenced some of the setup.
Thanks guys.

Good luck with it, and don't try an inverted spin.....it doesn't work out too well []

Hi guys.

I'm glad to hear the the maiden went well. The F-22 is really a very good flying airplane, and quite fast too. I miss mine. Here are some pics of my friend Michael Nielsen's F-22.

This is a tailerons version. Simple and effective.
