Rich, you had sent me the manual in GIF format at one time, but it has since dissappeared. Do you still have it? Please send it to [email protected]
Thanks.
Thanks.

RE: Byron F20
Hi Jay,
Wow, it's been some time since we discussed this, but I found the manual and emailed it to you. You're lucky I still had it around, I've probably been through four computers since we discussed this last. It's an 11 MB file ( a tiff file actually) so I hope you receive it ok.
I still have this KOTA F-20 Tigershark kit and will sell it if anyone is interested. Some have told me that it will convert to the new brushless electric ducted fans very nicely like one of the BVM units: http://www.bvmjets.com/Pages/electric.html I don't know if this is true, I'm just reporting what others have told me. Also see these tips on converting from a glow DF to an EDF: http://www.bvmjets.com/Pages/Tips/HOT_TIPS.htm and here: http://www.bvmjets.com/Pages/converting.htm
Or go all out and install a turbine

Thanks Rich for sending the manual again! It's been a long while, and it's time to pick up this hobby again. In your email to me, you mentioned your asking price for the kit. Is that still including the fan and motor, or is it long gone?
FYI, I will be gutting my jet and converting it to Dynamaxw/ KB.82 setup. On thing I was hoping the guide had pics or drawings of the formers, as I need to gut my plane and make new ones. Do you have any scans or drawings?

Hi Jay,
I still have everything that belongs to the kit in the original boxes. Fan, engine, etc. At this point I'll consider any serious offer for the package.
I don't have any method to make or scans copies of the plans, luckily I still had the scan of the manual available.

Any thoughts on what size engine it would take if I decided to make this a pusher, rather than ducted fan?

I don't know what size engine for a pusher, but I would think that at least a .90 or go larger if you like!
It was designed for a .80 or .90 DF, perhaps a pusher is more efficient than a DF?
You'll have to ask someone else this one.

Yeah. I have a 1.2 Gas Engie from a wheed Eater, but it's monster heavy. The next one down is a Super Tiger 60. I'll go DF with my dynamax/KB .82 :}

I have fuse, fuel tanks, horizontal stabs, fuse-bulkheads, canopy, landing gear, vertical fin, and some wood strips. some are marked leading edge and trailing edge. there is what looks like beechwood to cover the horizontals and roll of it to cover what I dont know, maybe the wings. there is also about 30-3" wide 3' long balsa sheets, got no clue what thats for if the beechwood is for covering. I have a feeling there is quiet a bit missing. Did these things come with any rear nozzle or inner tube? do you want to sell this stuff or what can we do here, thanks for your time.

I have the full original F-20 kit available, still in its original boxes, never built.
I also have the special retractable landing gear that were built for this kit.
Additionally, I have the engine, fan and pipe that was originally meant for this aircraft (although not included in the price I quoted above).
Let me know if you are interested in this kit. I won't part it out as it is complete.

I have one someone can have if they come pick it up. I am tired of tripping over it. Wings have been sheeted so have the horizontals. It is free if you are in the IL area. I am not delivering it anywhere.

Lewis I don't think it would be worth it to box it up and ship it. Its not in perfect shape but not destroyed. Not sure how to ship the fuse either being 90" long and I have no box.

Lewis,
Did You get your question answered? I have one of these kits still in the box, but not willing to part with it. I have taken pictures of all the parts and pieces if interested.
I have the wing plan somewhere and can make a copy of it if you would like. Or I can trace the root and tip of the wing panels if you want to make one.
I was going to use a Byron fan with a .90 DF engine, but with the elect. technology these days, I may do that. Not sure how one of the hot DF elect. motors will hook up the the Byron fan.
Let me know,
John G.

Lewis,
I have the Wing Plan printed now and am finishing the balsa, ply, and aluminum piece plan trace plan, just need to letter a few more of the views and have it scanned and printed.
I have a complete assy instruction book available too if you want it. The Scale R/C Modeler Article in the February 1985 issue and the Cressline's F-20 featured in flying models, November 1988.
I have a lot of memerbilia from Northrop on the F-20 as my Father worked for them for 32 years and my wife was working for them at the time the F20 was being built. Pictures, Northrop News, 3 views, skeleton view, ect.
Let me know how I can deliver all this to you? I have a mail tube ready to go.
