RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Hey guys
Just wondering if anyone heard from Patricia lately, like over the weekend. I want to buy a Sprint and sent her an Email on Friday and another one Today but have not hear back yet. I was told she answers emails real quick.
Thanks.

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Hello all Boomerangers out there
As promised I was able to get some pictures of the problems I'm having with my DreamworksRC landing gear set.
The bottom of the strut has the sides machined out to accept the brake drum and wheel. However the side assemblies of the brake drum (where the air port for the brakes are ) are too wide to properly seat in the machined part of the strut
Here you cans see how I laid the brake drum on the bottom of the strut to show how the side assemblies are too wide and do not seat flush against the machine part of the strut.
In the last photo I am holding the brake drum against the strut. You can see how the brake drum assembly is too wide and too long to properly seat against the machined portion of the strut.
I've got an email out to DreamworksRC and soon as I have a fix I'll post it
Pete

I had a similar issue with a set thst I received from Dreamworks but, the gap between the two was nowhere near the space that you have.
IMHO it looks like a wrong sized hub for that strut, but what do I know[]

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Actually, The issue is a missed machining run on the strut hub. We machine these struts to fit several wheel sets. The section shown are machined to fit BVM sized brake flanges; where the strut widens is supposed to be machined to 1/2" to fit the intairco brakes. Intairco flanges are longer than BVM, we set the flange mount further back on the strut allowing for multiple brake/wheel sizing. Reviewing the inventory on hand, looks like my last batch had this error. Simple fix is to file/sand the flanges down a tad to fit the 1/2 flange or contact me for a replacement set.

Have you tried talking to Todd, he is a stand up guy and will always put right a product mistake if that is what it is, don't understand why you have come on here complaining prior to making contact with him?

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
After a couple of emails and a phone call, Todd at Dreamworks explained that some of the struts were missing some machining that would allow the Brake Drums to properly seat on the struts. He said for me to send back the struts and he send me the correct pair
If anyone else gets these struts by mistake call Dreamworks RC as they are aware of the problem!

I agree, Todd is a great guy and Dreamworks is a great company to do business with. I thought I had an issue with my retracts as well and sent him an e-mail. He responded almost immediately and addressed my concerns.

Like your new scheme Mike, especially the way the fins are done looks good, not a fan of the sprayed canopy but have to admit in this scheme it looks good.
I think it transforms them when you take the time to recover, I am really please how my Intro turned out after its recover it feel like a new model.

Thanks for the compliment, I'm very pleased with way the tail turned out as well, its not obvious in the pic, but the canopy is not standard, its off a 1:4 scale Edge cut down as I cracked the lower part cutting it out a long time ago, but found the fit was perfect when cut down, its a bit more flowing into the fus and I think makes it look better, its sprayed with green pearl and then black to back it up changes colour according to what angle you look at it.

Good stuff, you could see how windy it was by the Yawing on the ground run after landing, have to admit I only flew my foam Viperjet today, the Sprint is not ready from its re-cover, but will be by next week I hope.

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Anyone using JR 821s in their sprint with P80 or similar power? I've got some lying around and just wondered if they were suitable. I haven't received my plane yet but getting ready for it to arrive.
Thanks.
Thanks.

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Lots of people using 821's including Ali, so don't think they should be a problem, something a bit more powerfull on the elevator may not come ammiss though.

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
We love the 821's and have used them in many Boomerangs ( Mainly sprints and Nano's although we do also have an Elan flying in our group that is all 821 equipped)
Although I have seen two Sprints that are fully equipped with 821 servos, which I assume are still flying today.... I still suggest something slightly stronger and preferably metal gear on the elevator. Being a single surface, and what I would guess to be the hardest worked servo on the plane, I just like to have that piece of mind.
Regards Al

8th & 9th flight this past weekend - what a fantastic machine. All 821's except for the 6020 (I think?) on the elevator.
Here's hoping for good weather for this weekend!!
Waiting for the video someone took

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Hi all the Sprinters!
Im from South Africa and is glad to say: "Im now one of the Boomerang gang!!!!!!!" I bought a second hand sprint in very good condition. Have not recieved it yet, but not will arrive in the very near future! It will be my first turbine aerie and I'm kind of scared by the idea of flying it........but cant wait for the day.
I need to ask if somebody have a copy of the sprint's owners/building manual that they could mail me? I did not recieve one and need all the throws and setup info. Please, if someone can help me?
I will post pics of my new "baby" as soon as it arrive.
Have a great day
