Yes, on the same day 4 flys later.
It was one of the very first version of the 18. made at first with ducted fan, than with jetcat. (I was not the first pilot of this plane)
I was on staight flight, preparing for a loop and the right wing suduntli go away from the plane.
It is the span wehre the fixing of the front aluminum plate is who broke. (i think the same was allready by written on the forum).
But NO RISK, NO FUN.

I think, i will made a new F-18 in some month.

Ps.Sorry for my English, but i usually speek french.

Regards
Nick

Hi,

I'm very sorry to hear that! If you mean the area where the spar receiver sits on the bulkhead, yes, that's been the place where at least two other birds broke. Fortunately, they've since made that area ok for turbine use. Sorry to hear about your loss!

Well, finally back on the twin....I am happy to say it is finally on all three gear! Thanks to my lil helper Kendall, it went easy! I am hoping that in between business trips, i can stay kind of steady on the build!

Hell you know me... if imma do it, imma do it right. So full litho-plate surface detail, scale surface hinging, and since it'll be all composite, Re-doing the spar design, so the leading edge flaps can be integrated is a must have! Now just gotta get some $$$ to buy another bug kit. lol

OOOOOOOH THOMAS.....the way you make it sound, i may not even sart the glassing process on my foam wings....;-).. How would you incorporate the wing spars to peoples planes that already have the bulkheads/receivers installed??? Please dont tell me i would have to grind that s#it out!!
