Default Another New Bobcat -- It Flies!!

Well, It must be new airplane season!

Attached is a picture of my new Bobcat.
Just ran the P120 today. Started right up and ran flawlessly! Seems like a LOT of power.

Weight was 19-1/2 lb dry.

Looks like test flying on Friday or Saturday!

Regards,
David

Dave,

Looks great! The paint job reminds me of the old cartoon character, 'Wonder Woman'! The shape of the blue color on the nose with the star looks like the band she used to wear around her head.

Uh... No more Futaba for me.... But I do plan a Futaba Ebay sale soon. (I think many of you can figure out why.)

Yes, current plan is test flying at Paxton mid-Saturday morning.

I swear I wasn't thinking about Wonder Woman.... Maybe on the sub-consious level...

It is ready to go.... final balance check, range check, and that is it....

Well, it is not a switch... Maybe a transition! :-)

I still own and operate two Sophia 850's which I consider to be fine engines.

The P120 is very cool, and is making a ton of power... and I certainly have high expectations for it, as it is a very impressive piece of equipment.

(I have flown a LOT of Jetcats... in the US, but mostly in Hong Kong and China, so I have great confidence in them!)

Have Fun!

UPDATE!

The bobcat flies!
Put a very smooth flight on the Bobcat this morning. Just a few clicks of trim. The P120 has a ton of power, and it is accelerating hard even straight up!
Did not do more flights because the weather is quite bad. Blowing 15-20 mph across the runway, and hazy and overcast.

Slow rolls were very nice, and the setup per instructions is very close. Really feels like a good airplane.

Here is the takeoff... Power is enough to where there is no point keeping it close to the ground!

Regards,
David

Here is a shot of the whole crew after a successful test flight!

I do hope to drive to Winamac in the morning if the weather is good.

and regarding a couple of the comments above....

Stickers? Whats a sticker? All of the JR's are PAINT....
Only a couple of the tiny things are stickers on there.... almost everything is paint.

Fentress doesn't look good this year, as I am back in the midwest....

Dave,

Did you go with Tony's setup instructions or BV's? I found BV's recommendations to be WAY too sensitive for my tastes.. but mine are probably softer than most people like.
