RE: TBM Shock Jet
OK here is my jet, 50+ flights this summer 1 flight last night I used what came with and added some small washers on the top and bottom just to make sure and at 50' high and 100+ mph you can't see them and I feel safe that is what counts. You can see a burned mark on the tail I did this on the first start up I learned fast how to start a turbine.
Thanks Jim

Thank you all for the replies - especially the photos. The linkages are as I had imagined them, but it is good to have confirmation.
Ghinshaw - do you have a source for titanium rod that you recommend?

I used the Carbon rod that came with it for the Rudder. You CAN FLY WITHOUT A RUDDER!! You CAN NOT FLY WITHOUT A ELEVATOR!!! Thats My Philosphy!!!!
I used the TBM 3" You can use the Hanger 9, But WHY Pay more???? Let me know if you need any thing else!

I am getting 24 degrees maximum throw on the ailerons. The instructions mention 30 degrees, but I can't get there. I think it should be fine though.
FWIW - to get the flaps set up right I had to use the short rod and the short linkage and start with the servo arm well off center. From the photos (including the manual), it looks like that is what others did as well.

Has anyone ever felt the need to seal the gaps on the control surfaces to help prevent flutter? I have not experienced any flutter to date but wonder if it should be a concern.

Here's a sstupid question:
Why aren't the tiger decals the same size/shape as the vertical stab and rudder? Is there a good reason or was the factory just lazy?

RE: TBM Shock Jet
Hi Everyone, I really appreciate all the advice and tips I have gained while reading this thread! I am certainly glad that everyone is really enjoying their Shock-jets! Like many, I am also new to jets and have considered a Shock-jet. By reading this thread, I have learned really a lot. However, can anyone provide / post some suitable throws for the Shock-jet?
Please help!
Thanks Kenrod4u

Thanks Gerry and Jim,
I really appreciate your input. I have seen both of your videos on YOUTUBE and you both put on a really good show... Jim, in one of your videos, your shock-jet had an extremly long take off; was it because you did not use flaps or was your aircraft under powered at the time with the JC Bee?

RE: TBM Shock Jet
Ken, To Be Honest with You, Flaps atr NOT needed for take off. I don't use flaps Except for landing. Without flaps I can still take off SHORT!! Some people take off long for the speed. If you use flaps on take-off you have to be carefull not to stall it out!!! I don't use flaps on the take-off and have to worry about the stall.
