RE: TBM Shock Jet
Very nice photo!
I maiden my shock today.... five perfect uneventful flights. What a blast! It's a very stable aircraft, very relaxing to fly! The bug has bitten; already thinking about my "next jet"
Cheers,
Steve

RE: TBM Shock Jet
I had a flameout with mine not too long ago, right after takeoff. I had gone full throttle with my Falcon, was pulling to vertical when it quit. Only about 100 ft up. Nose down, build up speed, flared and pulled full flaps a few seconds before landing off field. Only thing that broke was the bulkhead the nosegear was mounted to. (A real weak point in the design, IMHO). Quick fix, though. I beefed it up a bit when glueing it back in.
If it had been a grassy area I'm sure there would have been no damage. It landed in a harvested field with furrows. With all the wing area and large flaps, it is amazing how slow it will fly, and is one reason why there was so little damage.
The problem was the fuel pump. I have a replacement coming from Eric, and am looking forward to getting it back in the air soon.

Appears to be a bad link in previous post. This was made last Sunday , shows andy's maiden flight and 4 shok jets airbore at same time . A rookie and a F-16 slipped in there somehow.

RE: TBM Shock Jet
Just got my shock jet this week from TBM. I have a couple of questions. I see it comes with the flat "dubro" style hinges, but Ido not see anywhere in the ailerons, flaps, elevator or rudder where they cut slots for hinges. Is this common or am I missing something? Also, I was looking through the bags of hardware and only notice there is 1 carbon pushrod. There is a seperate bag with almost the exact same hardware, just minus the carbon rod. I assume the 2 carbon rods are suppose to be for the rudder and elevator. Overall, pretty happy with the covering and how everything is packed. Just trial fitted the parts and they all go together great. Iam putting a JetCat P-70 in it so it should be fun. Any help with the hinges or what you guys have seen or did I would greaty appreciate it. Thanks.

Also, if anyone else installed a JetCat P-70, could you email me or PM me with any suggestions or things you had to change. Iam making the jump from giant scale 3D to jets so there is still a lot Ihave to learn when it comes to jets. Thanks in advance.
