That was, and I guess still is, a Fultts strut. The cross bar is where the nose brake spoon pivoted. It, the brake, is pretty effective. Once upon a time they were available through Tower Hobbies.

,
I was thinking about Shocky, do you still have it? Yes, I still do...
Can you measure CG on your wing, not fuselage like in Manual, please. I did 1/3rd of the wing from leading edge...
I posted wing dimensions 2-3 posts up, so would like to compare them with yours if no problem(wingspan, root and chord dimensions)
Currently i have CG fluctuation of 4 cm from empty/full main tank and still tuning the best one for slower landing yet not too tail heavy when tank is used up at end of the flight...

My fuel cell is in the middle of the fuse... I am using the J-Tech fuel cell...
The really biggest thing I see is that you need to move your turbine WAY back towards the tail!! It really is about 10cm to far forward.
I have many pictures of mine on here.. I was the one that did the R and D on these.... I even did the TBM DV8R...

Default NIB Retracts for DV8R

Assembly should be a breeze. I can't wait to get to work on it and see how it flies. I have no doubt it will be a fun trainer and a fun plane to just beat around with. Ignore all the accusations of the past and look at the plane for what it is. The price is too good to pass up if you need a fun jet! I feel TBM and MF Models have put a lot of effort into making this an easy jet to get some training on.
I have a new set of retracts for the DV8R Shock Jet if you need them. Speical order from Robarts is $779.95 + air kit $65.95 + S&H. Mine only $422.95 + $5.90 S&H Uncle George [email protected]

Complete with air kit needed for an installation.

Well it was last year that I first saw and had interest in the Shock Jet at a local jet event , There they actually had one in a raffle I did not win it , But it was sold back to the club and this year I was the lucky winner so now I have a lot of learning ahead of me .
It is I believe a older build TBM shock jet and I was told that the engine/motor is a Wren 70 Turbine . It has air brakes , so far I have not done much with it besides getting it home and in a safe place in my already full garage/hanger area .
Last evening I went to order a RX and found that Horizon is out of stock on 12 and 20 channel till Oct ... so I will be waiting till then at least to start with getting it set up guess I need to find a manual for the plane and the turbine so I can learn and educate myself prior to going up to the club field to work with the CD and other jet pilots on getting my waiver and the plane ready to fly ...

Sent you a P/M regarding the manual .
I get pretty busy thru the week and we have a swap meet this weekend but as soon as I get a chance I will get my camera and take a few pictures and post of my Shock-Jet .
its the normal Tiger printed scheme kind of a plane jane looking aircraft but its my first actual jet so I will do my best to make it the best it can be .

Ahhhhh!

That was fun we used to do hot fueling with the TamJets F18 all the time, specially during the jet events, one thing that we had to do then when hot fueling was to kick the rpms up a notch to adjust for the higher fuel pressure.

yes you can see me on flight 3, 2m:30sec in video, when refuelling before flight 4, that I grab throttle stick to check if it is bottomed down, because as fuel pump starts, RPMs do rise automatically,

fun for sure, and quick way to burn whole canister of fuel

I had one that I had a couple hundred flights on, loved that I could fly it off any field conditions, just a relaxing simple flight. When I downsized my rc fleet I sold off all the giant gassers & jets (trailer too), now I wish I still had my shock jet & trailer. The guy that bought my shock still has it, need to hit him up.....he has let me fly it a few times over the last 5 years.
