Default Kangaroo Help Needed

I have an older Kangaroo (foam wing version) and while trying to mount the nose gear, which is belly mounted, I realized that there's no instruction on how to mount it, except for the SA nose gear former mount. While searching through some RCJI magazine for reference, I came across some Roos with nose gear mounted what it seems to me very close to the nose. Should the nose gear be mount aft of the nose former or infront of the former for belly mounted version? Appreciate your expert advise and if possible some photos of the mounting system.
Thank you.

Hi Bill, thanks for the tip. Will try to figure out a way to mount it aft of the former as the nose wheel will hit the radio tray upon retraction.

Hi Pete, I'm using the retracts from Thailand and they are not mounted on the formers unlike the Spring Air version. I would think the Thai version is identical to Robarts. One thing good about the Thai version is that the mains are the same dimension as the Spring Air and there's no need to widen the retract mount.

SJ, thanks for the photo, it has given me some idea how to mount the nose gear.

I lost my roo on its second flight.....Im so stupid.....

First flight I had someone extremely good fly it and trim it for me. He
said it ws a little wild on the ailerons. But otherwise flew great, like all
the other Roo`s.
Well....my turn to fly.... It was EXTREMLY wild on the ailerons....and I
was over correcting when turning.... But I thought I could handle it...
I flew for about 4-5 minutes...... Then I made a mistake... Instead of
banking it onto its side to turn , I banked too much, and it was on its back
inverted. Because it was 8 in the evening, it was a little dark....verry
little dark..... then I lost orientation of it..... I did not se it was
flying inverted........so when I gave Up elevator to turn....it dived full
speed downwards.....But it was very high up. So I thought I would just pull
full elevator, and loop it.........I was wrong.....not high enough. Full
speed at around 300km/h into the ground.....everything destroyed... the
engine is completle destroyed.... Im a bit sad now :-(

Which engine is (was) on your Roo? Looks like a SimJet in the pic, but was it the 1200 or 1700? Mine has the 1200 on it. I was really impressed on the way yours got off the grass field, and I was worrying that a 1200 would not be engouh for mine. Sorry to hear about your loss, could you tell us how much throw you had on your ailerons? Did your model have two control surfaces on each wing or just one? Mine has two on each wing (total of four servos). Lots of mixing going on on my radio.

It was a Sonic 120 around 12 kg`s of thrust.....

I had the 20mm up and down as stated in the manual. I had split surfaces......4 servos total.. and 25mm on the elevator.

Some may think these pictures dont look too bad, but everything is bent, buckled, and cant realy be used :-( Even the turbine wheel is warped.
