Default JMA Jet Meet At R.A.F. Cottesmore

The J.M.A are having a flying weekend at RAF Cottesmore this weekend, just like to say a thank you to all of those good people involved with organising the event, and of course the station commander.

Have attached a few pictures from Saturday:

Regards,

Alistair.

Another enjoyable day at RAF Cottesmore, and a few more pictures, Ali had his F100 along, and a few more models from his airforce.

David Gladwin was flying his Savex with the vintage Royal Airforce colour scheme.

Paul Gray maidened his all yellow Sabre last night and flew it again today, along with his Hawk with his usual panache

The Boomerang collection was represented with Baby B's, Elans, and XL:

Regards,

Alistair.

A very nice low Key event. Thanks to those that made it possible, especially Roger. Also Julian for a well run TX control!
We only went on the Sunday, but the weather was great. Wind was just about right. Almost right down the runway at what is an amazing flying site. A nice mix of models, with a large number of Boomerangs ( As always )
Highlight for me was Mac's second flight of his F-16.... WOW! He is really at ease with that model now, and his display was really nice, precise and un-rushed! He should be one to watch at the WJM in Israel!
I had a pair of new ( To me anyway ) models to test. Ex Ian Richardson F-100 flew just how everyone told it would... Simply awesome. I also flew a classic Bandit T that I bought at Florida jets. P-120 powered it was no slouch, and confirmed to me that this really is the premier sports jet out there...
All in all a really successful, trouble free day of nonstop flying. ( Just how it should be ) Thanks again to the JMA for making it possible.
Regards Al

May I add my sincere thanks to all involved with the organisation at Cottesmore. I had an absolute ball with 12 flights on the L39 with everything, including Spektrum (not a single frame lost) and Wren 44 Gold working perfectly all day. Great location, relaxed flying with a great bunch of guys.

I'm afraid the Flycam one shoot didn't work out as the camera seems to have switched itself off after one minute or so, probaly my inexperiece with it but I'll try again soon.

Again many thanks to all involved particularly to Roger, Alistair for the photos, and Mac for the loan of battery power, that F16 is awesome, and the fully "gyroed" Hunter is superb too. !

Best regards to you all,

David Gladwin.

David,

I just sent my flycamone 2 back for same reason also my friend had same problems. I got mine from RC Pitstop and the owner told me he had heard that the importer had reported that there had been some faulty batches... waiting for my new one but when it was working had some great film of the old RAF Wymeswold runway.

Have you done anything with 'those photos' you took of the ARF-C? on Saturday?

Alan.

Hi Alan, Thanks for the tip off about the flycam, I'll test it further.

I still have the pix on my camera card, I have raised the issue in Safety Matters to see if we can have some sensible debate. Sorry about your loss, without doubt you deserve a replacement and, as we discussed, the manufacturer really needs to get grip on this and soon.

I will email you the pix if you send me your emaol address. Many thanks for your company on Sunday, I had a ball !

Best regards,

David.

David
Good to see you and the L39, great 2 days flying was had by all.

I would like to point out that my 2 Wren 44 Golds performed perfectly (as normal) during the event as did my 12FG FASST system, not a single problem (as normal).
Great event, see you at the Nats!
Maybe a tinny or 2??[8D]

I would just like to take this opportunity to point out that my Adidas winkle picker air editions work faultlessly all day long. I at no time experienced any loss in traction, unneccesary blistering or foot discomfort!
Sorry... couldn't resist. 99 times out of a 100 I can, but the devil on my right shoulder got the better of me on this one!

LOL

Adidas....huh....you should have had Nike, they use less rubber...

I would also like to mention that at no time did the Ferret leave the lead....

Paul, tinnies (why only 2?) are on me !!! Need to thank you for the L39/Wren 44 idea.

The performance of your Hawk and Sabre was just amazing, hard to believe that its only a Wren 44 pushing, what a truly delightful engine !

Most impressed too with the FASST system !

Agree, we ALL had great time, no hassle, no politics, no BS, just a lot of good flying, what this hobby really is all about. !

Best regards,

David.

Had to happen did'nt it? we have managed 14 posts and nobody mentioned the Ferret, we can all come out of the closet now, feel free to discuss it, even embrace it, well maybe not too literaly

Sorry if it is a little off post, was cute though!
