have you tried flying a 2.4Mhz model with the receiver surrounded by that much carbon fiber?? Just currious if it allows a clean signal through from below and behind.....

We have started working on #2....

Hi Wayne,
you say it's fine with the retracts in the original position.., no need to move these closer to CG?
Does it raise the nose easy enough so you don't have to pull/ force it on take-off?
thanks for all your info.

This looks to me like the fake carbon fiber you can get from Todd at DreamWorks...ABS sheet with the carbon fiber look...

First one had the main gear in the stock location, no problems at all with rotating for takeoff. I'll see if I have a video somewhere and throw it up on youtube. We are doing the same with number 2.

Glad to hear it is fake carbon, I guess it fooled me (duhhhhhhh!)

Our first one with a titan was 29.5 lbs dry. Those 3 tanks (and the UAT) will hold around 8 lbs of kerosene so take off weight was pretty close to 38lbs...

Has anyone sourced a cockpit kit for this bird??

It's exactly the same as the Skymaster if you can still buy the cockpit it will work. Call Skymaster USA.

Hi Wayne ,
thanks for weight , i have just had a mock up with mine and it's gonna be about 27 lbs dry ,
i was worried about that weight using previous F15's as refferences , they were about 20 lbs and the raptors area looked about the same to me , i have been worried about the wing loading !
If your first one flew ok at 30 lbs i feel a lot more confident.
Its all but finished now but i have shelf'd it temporarily to build an Ultra Hots for our winter months .
Hope your all well , Dave , UK.

Mine came out 26lbs and Here is the picture of Cockpit.

Wayne !!! Do you have any information about elevator mixing rate and direction of mixing (pitch down or up)when full flaps down 35mm ???

I am kinda afraid to use full flap35mm for landing because the location of flap is really close to Elevator.

Thank you !!!

According to my radio programming, there is no elevator mix with one notch of flaps...full down flaps has 9 % of up elevator..

I'm not having much luck uploading the raw video..I'll have to run it through movie maker and try again.....possibly tomorrow night,,,,

Mine are set at 40mm full flaps. I use it every time. 20mm for take off. I had no real pitch change or elevator blanking with use of flaps.

Nice looking 22, but you know there are no visible rivets on the real 22. The RAM skin covers the aircraft for a smooth finish.

Sorry guys..I have been trying to upload a video to you tube for the past week with zero success (I think it is my computer..)

I balanced at 165mm.... (160mm-170mm) I hope this will be OK...
Because jet legend F-22 Cg is 250mm..
165 will work great...the jet legend is quite a bit bigger machine...

PIPE...if you go to airliners.net or jetphotos.net and type in "Lockheed Martin F-22", you will have access to hundreds of photos of F-22's...like this one...

Yes !!! I do know the real F-22 does not have visible rivets but i always want to try the Pro-marks decal and make one like that.

I hope these pictures will help who want to make better looking scale jet.

Thank you !!!

Here's a little curve ball, that's right! Drop tanks.[:@]. Found this when I was looking for some close ups. Daryl as you said, their not any very close. Here's a web page that has some good walk around pics.

I built this simple jig for gluing the door hinges on.... we couldn't get the smaller hinges to work with the angles involved and had to go for the big robart hinges - they work well. On the first F-22, I tried gluing the hinges one at a time, and it was a real pain getting them all lined up...this way all three are done at the same time. The wood screws apply pressure to the hinge while the hysol sets...no more sticky fingers!
