7) Inboard aileron hinge - top view
8) Tail strobe and aft sensor

RE: JAS-39 Gripen Owners/Build Thread
Hi Jim
Great to see the guys are still very active on the thread.
I had some damages on my blue, white and red Gripen but I about 50% finised with repairs for Oudtshorn Scale 2013.
What I am really looking foward to is the Jet World Masters. Also to meet you and the other Gripen builders in Switzerland. I will be a helper for the South African team. Bad news to see you are not on the pilot list. I was looking foward to see the big Gripen in the air.
Regards
Pierre

Pierre,
Sorry to hear that you dinged your Gripen a bit but at least it will be back in the air soon.
Yeah, I would have preferred to be on the pilot list but a hard drive crash and a burglary significantly delayed my build. Still, I'm really happy to be going to Switzerland to call for Andy Andrews and am looking forward to meeting you and other jet enthusiasts from around the world.
Regards,
Jim

Thanks Pierre,
I probably won't have the lightest Gripen built because I plan to install gear doors but I'm powering it with a relatively light Wren 75/80 producing roughly 18 pounds of thrust. It seems that several people on this thread put in larger and heavier turbine units that also needed additional fuel to achieve acceptable flight times.
I switched out the stock air retracts for the Pro-Line Hercules electric retracts from Dreamworks RC. They are slightly bigger and heavier than the stock air retracts but now I don't have to install air tanks, valves, servos, failsafe switches, and air lines for the landing gear. They even come with an option to add electric brakes if I want to switch out the wheels. For the time being I'm going to make use of the e-brake system that BVM offers which uses a single high torque servo to pressurize the brake system.
I really don't like the orange and yellow colors on the Jet Legend plane that I purchased so I'm probably going to tape them off, lightly sand them and then re-spray the areas black and silver respectively. It won't be a professional paint job by any means but I think it will look better than the stock orange and yellow colors.

I think Jet cat P100 or K 100 will be better, keep it light and you will be like it more , I'm working on one with B100 F for power not for speed flying , just for vertical clime out when you needed and do some aerobatic, I wish some model manufacture can make little bigger size than this
Good luck with your jet

Must agree. My P80 gets the Gripen up with no hassle. Cannards are fixed, so the canard servo has been taken out. Less weight with smooth rotations. Turbine moved foward about an inch to cancel any noseweight. With this weight(I have never weighed it but I know it is ligther than standerd) it does flies very well but fast.
Enjoy
