Default F-16 awaiting Rabbit

This was supposed to be my model for the Summer........didn't happen. Then I thought about getting it ready for GSW........didn't happen either. Word is the Rabbit will be delivered mid September, unfortunatley too late for me. My wife is due with the first FalconWings Jr later this month. But.......if everything goes well........should be terrorizong the skies of Benbrook for winter (if the burnban is finally lifted).

Burnban has gotten me so bored that I've actually gotten quite creative! The other day I tried applying some Pep-Boys Aluminum tape to the turkey feathers to see how they look............liked it so I ketp going and going. Then sanded it radially with 320 for some "machined" look. Looks pretty good. EAT YOUR HEART OUT FLITE METAL!

I am giving serious consideration to getting the same aircraft.. Will also most likely power it with a RABBIT..
It should tear up the skies..

Rob, it is very light! The one in the picture is painted, cleared, has the landing gear system and servos installed and I'd say it is about 8lbs or less with the armament. This is lighter than my smaller Yellow Aircraft airframe with no armament.

I would say, go for a P-60 or a Super Bee for power so you can fly it longer.

if I am able to keep it under 12lbs with the engine and the batteries installed.......should take off in 100 ft straight up!!! [8D]

Falconwings

can you explain/show how the attachment to the rudder is? Your picture isn't clear on the hardware or the part that attaches to the rudder itself. I'm not sure how it really works.

[:@] wanna sell it?

The servo arm has a "pin" that came with the kit. It is sort of like a ball link, except it has a 1 inch pin. The height of the pin can be adjusted by tightening the jam nut on the servo arm. The bottom of the rudder has a slider mechanism with a slot for the pin. When the servo arm moves, the pin moves the rudder, and at the same time it slides. You may be missing some hardware. look at the bottom of your rudder, there should be a slider. The slider looks like the body of an E-Z connector.

I'll describe what I have.....

On the rudder itself it has a wire that goes through the rudder horizontal. in the notch on the bottom that is cutout that aligns with the servo there is a small ball shaped thing attached or part of the wire. It has a hole in it.

I do not have anything other than that.

So I'm missing the rod (and all the parts) from the servo to the rudder.

Also does the part that goes in the rudder attach to it or is it simply go through the hole and just sit there?

Rabbit and Jet are not for sale, sorry. I've been waiting since June for the Rabbit

SP..........the pin just passes through so that you don't have to remove it when you take the ruddder out. If you don't have the pin, don't sweat it!
Find a 4-40 threaded rod. Cut it to length, place one jam nut on each side of the servo arm to secure it, and to adjust the height. The rod should extend some passed the slider at the base of the rudder.

Thanks for the info.

I've heard of people having flutter issue.

Do you forsee this with that type of linkage? I see you're using a 8411 and I plan to use that or an 8611 (whatever I have laying around)

My Tamjets has the same setup and no flutter issue.....yet.
I am using 9411, not 8411. An 8411 would be a tight fit.

David,

I sent you an email question regarding your weapons pylon on station 3/7:

On your Jet Legend AG pylons are those 2 pieces? Like where I drew the red line do they seperate there? Reason I'm asking is I have Dan Gill's TER with Mk82 bombs I want to hang from those stations but he doesn't make an F-16 weapons pylon so I am ordering them from Mike.

Also, how do those pylons mount to the wing bottom? Iwould like to permanetly install the plyons to the wing and attach the TERs with a set-screw of some sort. (so Ican remove bomb rack as desired)

Here is a pic of the top of the TER which is flat and needs to mate up to the weapons pylon. I think the bottom piece on yours is a missile rail "adapter" so you can hang a missile on that pylon? In this other pic, I don't think it is shown....
