GREATER SOUTHWEST PICTURES
The 26th Greater Southwest is now history and I think a lot of people won't forget it.
I want to thank Larry Garrett (CD) and the Waco club for hosting the event. A good time was had by all. Also want to thank Dawn Ellzey for her cooking of breakfast and help in preparing the other meals. The only meal people had to pay for was the meal Saturday evening.
Thanks to Chic Kazen and Bob Price for the pig roast Thursday evening. They were supposed to cook rattle snake that were caught near the field but time just got away and forgot about it.
Thanks to John Hall for the ice cold watermelon mid afternoon. It sure tasted good.
Also want to thank first time visitors to our event.
Marvin Jones and wife - Phoenix AZ
Terry ? - Phoenix AZ
Dennis Mitchel and Brady - Tulsa OK Sorry for the mispelling earlier
If there were others, I'm sorry if I forgot to list here.
There were 48 pilots and a bunch of airplanes.
Awards went given to
Sam Synder Best Military (Vulcan)
Kevin Whitlow Peoples choice for the bomb dropping BobCat
Bob Covish Pilots Choice.
Going to post pictures over the next couple of evening.

Phil
Beside Jack showing up, Dan Massey was there all weekend and I'm not sure if you knew Bill Fowler, he showed up also.
The weather could not have been more perfect. Severe clear with little of no wind.
Hope you made it through the hurricane OK. You were missed.

RE: GREATER SOUTHWEST PICTURES
Chuck and I became local Waco celebrities as we made the front page of the Local & Texas section of the Waco Tribune-Herald for Saturday Sept. 6th 2008 edition. However, you can't always believe what you read as I told the reporter that it was not my plane but from the article you can see it was reported as being mine. It was actually Chuck's new Reaction 54 ARF.
