Default Yellow F-16 turbine conversion from DF

Considering converting Yellow F-16C (latest version) from Df to turbine power (JetCat P-60). Is conversion realistic for a Yellow F-16 that is already built for DF? As the DF ducting leaves very little room for fuel tanks - are conformal tanks, or any tanks for that matter, available for this configuration? Is a bypass necessary or advised? Single or double wall pipe? Any help or advice, especially photos would be much appreciated.

Hi,

Fuel capacity will be your biggest problem. Gary Mueller makes conformal tanks for the F-16 (older version prior to the turbine inlet). It'll be a pain to get them in, but you don't have much in the way of options now that the fan inlet is installed. You don't need a bypass, and the P-60 will be a wonderful combo in that plane.

Shawn, thanks for your advice - can you post the contact info. for Gary Mueller.

Dumb question but, since a bypass is not needed, I assume there is no need for double wall pipe? Where can I get single wall pipe?

Any trouble flying off grass with a P60SE? What kind of performance can be expected? Not interested in speed, only want to be able to perform scale demo-flight maneuvers.

Hi,

Give me a call on your questions: 619-944-7574. As for the pipe, no you still need a double-walled pipe. You probably couldn't find a single-walled pipe in use these days....
