RE: CALI CREW PART II AT THE WILLOW!!! NOVEMBER 7-8-9TH
I'm looking forward to meeting you guys this weekend. My first get together with my first jet and hopefully my first succesfull landing! Let's just admit the first try required some repairs. I'd like to get my waiver soon. That would be the excuse I'm looking for to get my next one...

Hey does anyone have one of those little black fitting thingy's that go in your propane fill line that plugs into the powermax bottle? If so, can you please bring it to the Willow and I will buy it off you....if not, then how about a trigger? I have the one way check valve in already, but have no way of getting the propane into the line[&o]

What's the head count so far? I got a feeling the turn out is going to be pretty big. The local crew might want to be prepared for that. If this is a successful turnout, it should become a bigger even like FIJR, except on the west coast and invite the Asian, Canadian and Latin American crew to come over. Is that to far fetched????

Dave and Duk are bringing gas grills so we can all do some grilling during the day Friday and Saturday. Feel free to bring some food to grill on these grills. Also, make sure to load a green trash bag when you load your jets. Last year we had a bit of a trash blunder and poor Duk Duk turned his Duk Duk port a potty trailer in to Duk Duks dumpster. There is a dumpster back at the hotel to dump trash and Kero cans.
See all of you Friday morning.

Conner and I will be there Friday morning. I think Gregg and Billy will be there at the same time.
There are some (3) other Sepulveda jet guys coming, great guys a bit new to the buttonwillow tip and they have committed to joining the club.

Like Jimmy said, I will be bringing my gas grill so if you got something you want to cook for lunch you are more then welcome to fire it up.
Can't wait,

Like Matt mentioned, other cool jet bro's are more then welcome but they really should join the club. Everyone supporting the club just makes it that much more beneficial to the local guy's when they get bombarded by our group in such numbers. Since we are all members we all have the right to be there, but we must be respectful to the other club members who are also out for a nice day of flying. So to you new guy's remember this is not a "JET SHOW", so if the guy with the trainer 40 wants to fly lets give him some room and wait our turn.

The last time we were out, a fellow member pulled up in his pickup with his son. They had a patriot in the bed, but they did not get it out of the truck for a long time. As I received a lot of my (painful?) "learning" on a number of patriots it was fun to talk to he and his son about their plane. It still took me about 20 minutes to convince them to get it out and get some flights in.
They did, and they had fun and so did I. That is the club atmosphere I think we are all looking for.
To me at times it seems VERY unfair the "elitist" tag that we get hung with, but so be it. Be a good club member and go the extra mile to get past this unfair lable we suffer under and we all have fun.
See you guys tomorrow.

Somebody get a pic of a person in a CA Jets T-shirt at the WillowQ...back in the kitchen...knee deep in the Deeeeeeeep Pit...making out with Sam Wrights' girlfriend!
I need images for the T-shirt page...and who knows, it could win.
Most of all, you guys have a blast and be safe!

I got back late last night. Had two BEAUTIFUL days on Thursday and Friday. There were a bunch of us there-should be even more on Saturday/Sunday. I think the count was about 23 pilots and 30+ planes. The highlight so far was the seven Flash formation smoke show (Its only a matter of time boyez). Dougie had the shangra La all set up and kept us well hydrated and fed. Big thanks to Presta for the yard bird, Dave Searles for the picture and everybody for everything else. The friday night show was not to be missed. Scotty

OH MAN, this weekend was a blast. Great hang'n with the fellas. Lots of fly'n and foolery.
When I arrived Friday morning I was treated to a 1000' knife edge pass withe A10. Man I did know she could hang like that. Nice job SJ.
The weather was perfect. Lots of planes ( must have been over 40 or so) and lots of none stop fly'n. It was great to see some new faces come out. Speaking of "faces", that reminds me, Friday nights foolery was top notch. I never knew how much fun it would be to run for your life in fear of getting shot by an airsoft gun. Again, why are they called "airsoft", there ain't noth'n soft about them.
I want to thank Dave P, Russ, Tam and Dougie for the OK Corral training. And of course David ( new sherriff in town) Searles for not pounding me into the ground after I shot him with a bottle rocket.
Well, gotta go change my bandages on my leg and head
BTW, when I got home my wife asked me, " You've had the chicken pocks before right?" Thanks again TAM!!!
