So far I've only done a few test runs

I have some small problems to fix. Then I should be able to do much more testing and post some accurite data.

My main problem is at low power settings (below 40%) I have flame thru the NGV same as Chrigui?? but when power increases combustion goes back inside the combustion chamber.

Does anyone know what causes this problem? [:'(]

More info coming,
Cheers,
Sounds like too much fuel below 50,000 rpm. How about putting a restrictor inline with the fuel injector or recheck the injector ring for blockage.

I like this idea, as it would be easy to try. But would it effect the top end rpm??

Thanks for the input

Well this could effect your max rpm,,it all depends on what you were getting before and how quickly the engine reaches max RPM,, but you could always increase your Max RPM on your ECU if the restrictor works.

hello everyone,

i am building a KJ66 and i tested it today and during startup there was too much flames and actually alot of flames! but once its over 40,000rmp the flames go out and the temp drops to 650 and below and at 100,000 the temp was 590oc. my fuel injectors are 0.7mm internal diameter, could this be it?

thanx

I will check my injectors inner diameter later to see if its 0.7mm. Any pictures ??

P.S from the GTBA web site.

The photos look like you used a Kamps diffuser in the UT-160. I built the Kamps back in the 90s and used that diffuser with a KKK 2018 compressor. I was getting 10 lbs of thrust with no problems. That diffuser is a very old design. I would make the UT 160 diffuser that was designed for the compressor. I have the UT 160 drawings and the diffuser is very different. That is what I would do first.

The picture is from GTBA web site. I was just quoting the injector needle size 0:05 mm.

i have 0,7 x 70mm or 0,8x80 injector without problem
check the compressor clearance over compressor cover and diffuser..
then check the right alignement between compressor plane and diffuser plane

your glued diffuser is similar to FRANK TURBINE DIFFUSER..
Actually,Jetbeetle's 150lbs thrust turbine has Kamps old style diffuser.

Hi everybody.
After reading this forum Ihave recently (around 6 months ago) purchased the ut160za plans from Ulrich.
I know the NGV, Turbne wheel, and compressor wheel can be sourced from various places, however i have decided to makethese components and just wanted to know if anyone has done this sucsessfully?
The Comp wheel is a design i have drawn up, the NGV, and Turbine wheel are from UT's design.
